1994 Ford Explorer XLT
I have a 1994 Ford Explorer XLT that my dad and I are putting a transmission in from nearby junk yard and when they where getting the transmission using a forklift, the dude driving it dented the pan which caused the filter to get dented and was wondering if it will be fine, replace just the filter, or replace both

Replace both. Dorman sells a pan with a drain plug. You can get the pan for under $40 new. I got mine a few months back ago.

ALWAYS replace the filter if the pan is off

I would not run that pan, chances are it will leak, then you are screwed

Get the Dorman pan they are good quality and come with drain plug

I've used the Dorman pan on 3 different Explorers. As stated above they are good quality & the drain plug is great for frequent fluid changes.
