Trick for getting at top bolt on 4405???

I'm in the midst of removing the BG 4405 transfer case on my 97 4.0l. I'm using the shop manual as a guide, and it says to use a long extension to remove the bolts... I can't figure out how to get at the bolt on the top. I've tried all sorts of wobblers and long extensions but can't get on it.

Is there a trick to this?

Yes

Remove the center console-it is very easy to do-
then there is an access panel on the top of the trans hump--just where you need it to be--roll back the carpet a bit and you'l see it

I saw that panel from underneath, didn't clue in. Spent an hour fiddling... lol
