hey thanks for reading the thread guy(s). i was driving my explorer (eddie bauer, 96, v6) and while i was accelerating, the truck started to drag. then really started to drag while i was trying to remove myself from traffic. i checked the atf and there is plenty, its nice and clean, and there is no leak at all. the overdrive light was not blinking so what i want to know is, can it be a tranny problem or not??? any advice can and might help. thanks.

It could be that your valve body in the tranny has blown or the gasket around it has blown. Somewhere on here is a forum that tells you what to buy and how to do it if that is the problem. It could also be that your gear are worn and having a had time shifting. Its just a guess. See what others have to say.

no. the overdrive light was not flashing.

hey bklynbay. to answer your question, i put the gas to the floor. literaly! the rpm shoots up and the truck drags at a snails pace.

thanks for the info privetryan89. im still looking into a possible diagnosis and listening for advice until im able to fix it up. thanks again.
