Truck starts beeping like someone opens a door after 75mph!?!?!? HELP

Just got the Explorer and love it! Two things that were wrong were an annoying non-stop beep after 75mph and the ABS light was on, after doing some testing I found the rear sensor to be bad. Replaced it and light went away, but the going past 75mph I get a non-stop beep like someone open a door is still there... at 74mph it stops, at 75mph it starts every time.
Unplugged the battery and all that stuff but no go.

Just a guess but the beep could be something aftermarket? Maybe your ex was some sort of fleet vehicle? I can run a carfax for you and check if you PM me your VIN.

It was never a fleet vehicle according to carfax.... I still think that is something aftermarket though

wierd... ive had my 96 up to 105 and never had an abs light or a beeping over 75


you said it wasnt a fleet vehicle, but it still could have been, my friend has several trucks registered to him, that aren't registered to the company he owns, but are his work trucks.

I tend to agree with JL. It could be after-market Speed Alert like my old Buick has and what many Euro & Mid-East taxis have.

I agree also that it might be some feature/device that was installed... I don't have the info center and looked under the dash for anything aftermarket, it all looks good.

I would look under the hood for anything box-like that doesn't say Ford Motor Company on it, what ya' think? prob'ly next to your cruize control unit or somethin' Just my thought :exp: :exp:

Nothing aftermarket found... I did see some posts that this was a feature that the dealer can turn on
