run your finger nail down the side of the vehicle.

If your fingernail catches the only way to make it like new is to repaint that pannel.

If your fingernail does not catch it it can be buffed out.

98% of the key scratches I have seen need to be painted though :(
Sorry

Yep! I took an incident report on a guy who had the word "D!ck" keyed into his second gen's hood. He tried color match wax and buffing and it just made it a real shiney "D!ck" He eventually had the hood repainted.

What color is your ex? Maybe if you post a pic it will give us a better idea. I have heard the same thing as Monmix said and he seems to be the resident body expert. Hopefully they are just in the clear and you can buff them out.

lol, yeah i guess he had it worse..i'll checj that fingernail thing out....but damn, if i did eed it painted i would have to paint the entire truck....maybe to a 2tone thing on the bottom half

There's a special place in Hell reserved for these !#%^$@s
No matter how big a Dick or *****! :fire:

oh i forgot to say that in my first post...theirs no clear coat

Yeah, unless you got full coverage and no deductable. My dads friend got a new paint job courtesy of some friendly folks at one of the prisons here. He was a cook there, apparently someone didn't like his cooking.

So you just have the color? Did you paint it yourself? Or is it just in primer? I am confused.

my mechanic painted it befor i bought the truck becasue some guys mad girlfriend smashed all his windows and scrached all his paint...

i dont know what you mean srry, i guess theirs primers under neath and paint over the top...but i dont think theirs any clear coat

my findernail dosnt catch the scrach to much but i can really feel it..it doesnt seem like it scrached right thro the paint...maybe a really hard buff job, but its pretty risky...

somone buffed out new car and burned right tho the paint...now their a big white spot in the center of the hood and its a red car

i just noticed somthing....who ever painted it didnt wet sand it....you can really see the prange peal

people suck sometimes like why do people key others cars i am sry to see that hope u get it out umm looks too deep to compound it out.. but it could be worth a try...

Ornage peal is very much a Ford factory trait

I noticed this summer when washing that somebody keyed my left front fender and I was pissed too, although mine isnt as noticeable as yours. Mine are diagonal about 2" long about 2-3 " apart but colour cure wax hides it well. As far as factory paint goes, the worst I seen was on a whole row of 05 hyundai tiburons at a dealer that wad huge orange peel dimples and craters, as well as "zebra stripes" from the paint not being proporly applied. Good luck with the repair (or hiding) efforts

do the factorys use a spary to put the paint on??...becasue befor i knew thay used to dunk the entire car in a bath of paint, which never left orange peel...i rember seening this befor

they dunk for the rust proofing.
Paint has been sprayed for quite some time.
