Jared, now that I'm getting older, I don't try to do the drive until you get there trips anymore. I'll be taking two days to get there. Luckily my parents live in Las Cruces, NM. That will be my mid point of the drive. That's about a 790 mile drive for me. Takes me about 12 hours.
From Las Cruces to Truckhaven is about a 630 mile drive. That will probably take about 10 hours.

If you want to caravan and you are leaving from Austin, we could probably meet in San Antonio. Hmmmm, scratch that. Reverse that. I was just looking at the map and noticed that 290 goes over to Austin and keeps going West til it runs into I-10 between Kerrville and Junction. It looks more like a straight line to me from where I live, than taking I-10 through San Antonio. The wife and I just moved to the NW side of Houston, just off 290.

Anyway, I have plans for leaving on the morning of Jan. 15th and arrive at Truckhaven on the evening of the 16th. And we'll be leaving for home on the 20th. Let me know if you had plans to leave on the 15th or not.

Truckhaven is a great place to play, that's why I want 3 full days there this coming year.

I'm pretty sure I'll be able to come, I've also got a friend, we will both be driving our rangers, his is only 2wd though, sounds like a lot of fun. Soon as I get paid, you get paid.

I have been visiting this board for a while now,(not really posting anything) and now I can put some names with some wheels.

Down but not out...

Well, I've sent in my deposit but i wont be showing up with the ranger since nothing has been done to it since I
rolled it. I bought a used truck for work (full size 2wd Chevy) so thats what i'll be driving out to T-haven.
Hopefully I can ride shotgun with someone on a run or 2
if they don't mind.
I see in Petersons 4wheel and off road mag that CORVA
will be having their 8th annual poker run and BBQ on Jan 18th.

It can happen when you least expect it...

I just want to make everyone aware (if there was a chance that you weren't) that a roll is always a possibility when you're out testing the limits of your truck. It can even happen when you're not pushing that hard from just a short lapse of concentration or a slightly misplaced tire.

We do all we can to get everyone through safely, but there's always that chance...

T-Haven Woes!

Well guys, I'm taking a new job out in Redondo Beach. Mean's I'm an hour further from T-Haven, and I won't be able to take time off the first few months. I'm still going but I won't be out there until late Friday night and I'll have to leave Sunday afternoon.

I've got a long bed on the chevy I bought so i'll bring the rest of that chopped up tree for firewood, that should keep the fire going all weekend.

Yup, will be taking the 57N to the 10 east. I wouldn't mind caravanning. Gives me something to talk about on the cb. I haven't signed up yet, but I will right now.
