Good Point Al
Is because changing the tube from metal to some other substance has zero bearing on IAT temp IMO, but I am workin on gettin that temp way down, will be in touch:)

I think we all knew it would be a flop. I'm happy with my intake now. Spindlecone, what are your plans to cool the air?

have found that extra air intake via outside venting has no effect, same with insulation of the TB, have a water cooled system in the works via coils and a small external radiator, is all on the come.

Water cooled intake tube? That would be neat.

I still say, on a 1st gen, with a 66mm TB, you could benefit from a less restrictive tube. And I still want a rubber tube...

I'm in for one (if they ever make it).

Oh Yeah

I would be in line to get one on the first day

That depends on which manufacturer you contact, though I have had quotes as high as 2k.

I've worked with engineering departments where there was bidding going on as to who would supply the hoses for a water drilling rig. We're talking over 2 miles of hoses and it was settled in less than 2 months.

You know the sad part, I'd order 1 tonight if they made it. However as we say in the military the effective range of an excuse is zero. So far all I see are excuses and no product.

I am not sure if you have followed this thread from the beginning, but our intention is to offer this type of intake pipe at some point.

Back in July '03 we were very close to being able to offer this item, with all CAD work complete. The vendor that was to manufacture the part, Thermalflex, was purchased and moved to Mexico without warning. At that time the project was shelved, since we had no confidence in the vendor.

As of January this year, we have started relations with a new company that feels they can supply the part. We are just not able to fund the project at this point in time, but plan to do so at some point in the future.

Nothing solid on reinforced silicone, though we are looking into the possibilities of rotationally molded plastic, similar to that used by K&N and Volant.
