I have a 2000 Ford Explorer. I Messed up the front end pretty bad. So i swapped the frame with a 96 frame. The swap was easy. I put all of my suspension from my 2000 on it. including the torsion bars. When i was done with the swap I TT 2.5" it looked good and drove just as well. But after I went down to KOH in Frebruary anc back i noticed that my control arms and the front crossmember were parrallel. and over the last couple weeks it seem im rubbing on alot of stuff.

Anyways is it possible that my tirsion bars are bad or is it the pad the mount on in mid frame. because that pad was the only thing i didnt put on the 96 frame because there wasnt a spot for them.

Does anyone know how to fix my torsion bar problem?

what happened is they sagged, , crank the bars up some more,
can you post a pic of what you have at the frame for a better look, ??

hey , the 2000 is it a v8 ?

They are torsioned all the way up. Yeah the 2000 is a v8

sounds to me like what i said, they sagged out, you may need to get longer bolts and put them in to get back up where you want the front,

Do I Need any specific bolts for the torsion bars. If so where can i get them.

They sell tortion bolts specifically but if you can't find them I'm pretty sure you can use a hi grade bolt with the right threads just don't know specifics, mine sagged a lot when I did them too luckily I had a little more room on the bolts but I also didn't do a swap someone correct me if I'm wrong but aren't there different tortion bars between the different models this may play a part also...

When i did my frame swap i used my 2000 torsion bars not the 96. Ill take a look at getting some longer bolts
