unique dual exhaust- what do you think?

It may help them look better from the rear if you have the very ends cut at a 45° angle. That way it wouldn't look so box like from that view. Like this...

Just an idea.

expo, what is up with those rims man? thought you had white ones? =P

I like the exhaust... if only I had the balls to take off my spare so I could get duals.

i like how it looks from the rear! I think the tips curving out to the side look alot cooler then straight back....maybe its just cause im bored of the way mine are, who knows.

Very sweet custom setup though, i like it all!

thanks for the general compliments guys.

i'm happier and happier with it every day. I love the way it sounds and that it doesn't resonate badly.

and actually i really like it from the rear. It makes a statement and i like that.

You dont have to lose the spare to get duals.

Just makes it easier.

when I brought it into the shop, the guy wouldn't install the driver's side exhaust because he said that the spare was in the way.

duals can be run with the spare. it gets real tough to do them with 2.5" pipes and it gets tougher than that still if you want to keep the spare in good shape- my 3" pipe from my single exhaust ate through my spare even though it had a pretty solid inch of clearance. You don't want that to happen. all that said- its not that much harder to do it on the drivers side than on the passenger side and if the shop is any good they'll be able to get it done with the spare.

to tell you the truth i think i coudl put the spare up there with my system as it is. the guy who did this stuff for me is a fricking god at what he does. he also came in to do the work at 6 am so it would fit in my schedule. he is the owner of the shop and fittingly the shop is called the "wonderful muffler man" lol

No problems with my spare. The pipe doesnt even come close to it. It's on the other side of the shock.

If the shop says they can't do it, go somewhere else. I wouldnt want them to work on my truck anyway.

i have 2.5 inch dual piping with my spare still in. no problems thus far. shop did a great job.

I think the problem is, that I have the ARC shocks, which are kinda big - I dont think that there is room on the other side of the shock if I remember correctly.

After looking at it a million times, you have to do something about the way it looks from the rear. I like the side view tremendously but the rear view kills it. I think it would look great if you actually cut the rear trim and brought the exhaust up a few inches. Just pick up some used ones from a junkyard if your are afraid and try it. I think it would look great.

I agree with lowd.

i'll consider that when i figure out what i'm gonna do with the rollpan.

right now i have a few options in mind as you know, and they will determine which splashguards or custom splashguards i use. Once ive figured it out then i'll reevaluate the exhaust. i definitely like the way it looks now either way, but if it seems feasable to do something better later i will.

thanks for teh comments

If you were gonna get BM's rollpan you definitly wouldn't see them from the rear. :)

That's b/c the whole rear of the X is the rollpan!:D

PRETTY TRICK...LOOKS AWFUL CLOSE TO THAT SHOCK THOUGH.....

I'm thinking that its just the angle of the pipe with the angle of pic. Looks like its just bent around the shock.

its looking more and more like i'm gonna be doing the full steel pan and then it won't hang any lower than it does now.

What are the specifications about how close the exhaust piping can be to other objects, including the spare? I would think that by the time the exhaust is past the muffler, the piping would never get hot enough to melt anything, including the spare even if it was right next to it.

expo, I love the ex man, keep up the good work.
