I installed my new Dyanmax exhaust from Summit today. My old muffler had no front at all to it, the only reason the pipe didnt fall out was because it was stuck in so far. The resonator was shot and the pipe from there back was totally rusted.

Cut it all out with a sawzall but had to take lower shock bolt out to get new pipe in, no biggie.

Sound is much quieter (I detect a bit of throatyness) but I just want to say I noticed a pretty big time difference in performance. It is more responsive, feels tighter and snappier, quicker, and dosent lug going up hills. You can just plain feel the backpressure. If your not going with a Flowmaster, this is definatly $119 well spent. Tomorrow I want to do the Sea Foam and then change the oil. I cleaned the IAF but didnt clean the MAF because a writeup here said it is self cleaning.

Ok so I have a question,

2 things Id like an opinion on, and ive read many posts but the answer seems mostly opinion oriented

Want to get the front up now, I ordered the WAR153's and a pro comp AAL for the rear. I have Monroe Sense a tracs that are still good. They seem to have enough travel for a 2" , maybe not though. Ill worry about that later.

Are the Daystar 2" lift spacers a good choice? Do they go on top or the bottom of the coil spring? Do i need a spring compressor to get the springs out? Do the ball joints have to be broken? I want as high a lift as possible without resorting to new springs and axle brackets for now.

Can anyone tell me the procedure? Thanks again

Will the F150 coil seats give me the 2" lift?

Do i need a spring compressor?

so you got WAR153's and pro comp AAL for the rear.......and your only going spacers in the front ? can you say "RAKE" ?

i have a true 2 in. lift in front, and just shackles on the back, and it sits strate...have you even did any measuring front to back to see what you need ? heck with your stock front springs, you might only get back to new stock hight with just spacers ! then shackels and aal's out back ! you could be looking at a 4in. rake out back ! lol...

Well, I could always leave off the AAL's for now. So your saying that with just the shackles I will still have a rake with 2" front spacers?

depends on how bad your stock springs have sag'd over the years...

measure front and back, then you will know how much lift and where you need...

The car now sits (in stock form) with the front a bit higher than the rear now before any mods. Thats why I thought doing both ( Wars and AAl's) would give me good lift. I also want to get 31" tires, another reason I wanted as much as i could get in the back.

But those F 150 spacers, can anyone tell me the procedure for putting them in or directing me to the post. I know I saw the part numbers here somewhere.

I read so much on this site but I didnt know what was up with any of the mods all new to me so only bookmarked shift motor and RA bushings.

Didnt think i was going to do any mods but they seem easy enough and Im lookin to do a littler winter wheelin

Little late for the winter... but I wouldn't mind getting around to it myself.

As for the F150 spacers... I know that there is a thread around here too... just do a search for WAR 153 or F150 coil seats or something along those lines in the first gen forum...

About the 31's... you can fit 31x10.50's on 15x8" rims without a lift... That's my plan at the moment... I can't afford two full sets of 32/33's plus a lift right now... and I want a set for the highway and a set for the mud... So I'm going with 31 M/T's and keeping my stock wheels as well... that way I can have the 31's for muck and all, and stock wheels for the highway...

YOUZA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just got my new brackets and TRW bushings this minute- Nice quality parts and I feared cheap brackets for the $11.88 each i paid but they look good and came with all the nuts and bolts too!

So your saying I could get a 32 under there with just a 2" lift?

I was thinking of putting spacers on the wheels I know about the excess wear but for the lightwheight wheeling Ill probably be doing I figure it will be all right, like ID 50's writeup.

Off to tackle bushings

Not with out rubbing. unless you have a very rare truck.

You will not need a compressor. You don't mess with the ball joints. You should clean the MAF.

I would recomend going with the skyjacker 2" coils, unless your on a really tight budget. They are only something like $135 and you don't need any brackets. It's just as easy as installing the spacers (honestly, it's actually a little easier). And it will give you better on and off road handling.

As far as the AAL and shakles, I have a friend with 2" front lift 4" back via the exact same set up as you are talking about, and his ride looks good. The wheel wells look the same distance off the tires, but if you look really closely at his frame it has a very small slant.

The only reason not to run like this is if you plan on wheeling it. If so, I would not recomend the AAL, since it makes the springs stiffer, ie less flex.

i got 31's with 2in. lift , and it still rubbed on the inside at full tern. took 5in. of lift to fit my 32's on, dont know if it will rubb or not yet...

still say you need to know both your measurments front and back, if your front was say 34, and back was like 32, then you would know you need aal to get it back strate, and to lift it you need the shackels and spacers..then you could fit 31's nicely...

It doesn't have to be that rare. I ran 31s with absolutely no rubbing. I know that several others have done the same, then there is also a large number of explorers that can fit them with a little trimming of plastic, or some that rub for a few thousand miles on new tires (i.e barely touch) Those will probably rub more when flexing it off road, but mine didn't rub even when taking it over elephant hill in Moab. The only issue is with the wheels, is backspacing. If you get that wrong, you will rub.

Thats why Id figured id get the wheel spacers, 1.5" to get the wheels out a little farther. Now that you say 31"s will clear, I might as well go for the 32"s , and be done with it.

I dont mind a little trimming here and there.

Thats later, took me all day so far to get the 28mm, shovel my driveway so i can get my other 2 cars out of the garage, had to run for kerosene, and now just warmin up garage.

I also am just gonna put the front tires on 2 2x6's and put the rear on jackstands to do my bushings and brackets. Give me another 4" of clearance while truck still on tires Always feel safer that way.

Thinkin hard about those skyjackers, prolly makes the most sense, front coils have 144000 miles on them.

yeah leave the add a leafs off pack em up in a box and send em to me :D

Seeing as we're talking about 31's... what kind of offset/backspacing can be used without rubbing? I'm looking to get a set of ProComp Series 82 wheels... the white steel rims that seem to come on a lot of older Japanese 4x4's... plain white with little triangular cutouts all the way around the wheel... But, what would the ideal offset/backspacing be for 31x10.50 M/T's?

Arthur theyre onbly like 30 bucks thata why it pays to get stuff from Summit you buy as nuch as you can all at once then your only hit once with the "handleing" fee, 10 bucks i think, I doubt i could ship them for that.

I have MT Indy profiles on my one camaro, theyre a little greasy and 1 has this slow leak I like the ol skool looks of them (I black out all the lettering except Mickey Thompson) but I gotta wonder how good their other tires are if these arent so great.

them be wagon spokes there man...and try to get around 3.75 backspacing

Other than the American Racing Vector SE wheels, these are the only ones I really like... besides the fact that they should be somewhat cheaper (and hopefully stronger) than alloys... I don't go wheelin yet, but I do throw a lot of abuse at the truck as my daily, let alone what's going to happen to it on trails...

But, 3.75 backspacing... got it... In that case the offset doesn't matter, correct? As long as the backspacing is there, I can have any offset I want? And is it 3.75 or less?
