The quote i got from the repair shop my poor mounty currently resides at said I may need a new steering knuckle. He said he won't use a used one, only a new one; but he said we can deff use used control arms.

why used control arms but a new steering knuckle? Is he just trying to cut a profit, or are they one of those parts you just don't buy used?

BUMP now that the server is back up.

The repair shop guy is a fool. Unless the spindle is broken from a wreck, those last forever. The control arms on the other hand need to be replaced about every 100k miles, if you can.

I was involved in an accident.

I had it towed from the original place to the place that does all the body work/mechanical work for my company's fleet. We'll see what he says.

From the original post, it says that the existing spindle is bad, and must be replaced. That's completely logical, but then the mechanic will not replace it with a used spindle. There is no need to pay hundreds for a new spindle if you can find a good used spindle.

that's what I thought

Needless to say my guy is on the way to pick up the mounty from that schmuck now.
