I was talking to a co worker and he said that a buddy of his used the A/C condenser for a tranny cooler. In threary it should hold up and being the size would be great cooler. Thoughts?

Perhaps try using a peltier device (aka "thermoelectric" device, used to cool processors, memories, and such) bounded (somehow) to the stock transmission cooler. Basically its a solid state heat pump -- but the problem is that a peltier device will (depending on size and wattage) get so cold that it literally freezes air onto its surface and therefore has a chance of cooling the transmission fluid below its optimum operating temperature.

Peltier devices are on E-bay for cheap BTW.

Since its a heat pump, the other side of the device gets really hot so all you need is a regular small 12v radiator fan from the junk yard to evacuate the heat -- either that or place it in front of the radiator/engine fan.

Wow thats interesting -- some ideas for the radiator in the back with something like this are coming to mind! Danger Will Robinson, Danger! <arms flail> :)

jt, I believe those are the devices that FoMoCo uses in their air conditioned seats.
