I have a 1999 Sport V6 with 75000 miles on it. I have put around 2500 on it since I got it and have had to add 7 qts. of oil. It runs 100% and is as clean as new,but no signs as to where the oil is going. I park it on my concrete drive and there is not a drop of oil on it. Any ideas as to where it is going.

My God. That's a lot of oil. It HAS to show up somewhere! You don't have some sort of ring around the exhaust tip? No film on the car by the exhaust? What happens if you run it up to 5000 rpm in 2nd gear, then just let off the gas while still in 2nd?

I'm interested in seeing what the culprit is. That is an INSANE amount of oil to add between changes. I'd recommend leaving it parked until you take care of it.

7 qts of oil consumption in 2500 miles and you'd be smoking out the neighborhood if the engine was indeed burning it.

You have a leak someplace, look around, it may be internal as well.

No oil or smoke has showed up anywhere. The car runs and drives perfect. Nothing around exhuast or on rear door as I have seen on cars blowing oil.

Have we checked the cooling system?

Sure hope that ain't where the missing oil is... :p:

Just went outside and checked radiator only see green anti-freeze no oil in it. I have had many Fords, but never had one to get rid of oil.

Wow...

This is a real noodle scratcher... A agree that the oil could be collecting somewhere internally, but 7 quarts?! It's possible that an internal collection could drain by sloshing out when you drive...but that's pretty far fetched. If you were burining it, you would definately experience a lot of smoke while driving. I look forward to the solution to this one :)

This may sound really stupid...but are you sure you're checking the oil? I don't know where that 7 quarts has gone, but I would sure want to know asap. That's just nuts!

What he said...you sure you're adding oil to the right place? I don't think there is ANY way your engine can eat/leak 7 quarts of oil in that time without either leaving a mess on the ground or smoking like crazy.....

Unless someone is screwing with you and taking oil out of your engine....

That would be a hilarious joke! Well...unless it caused your engine to seize, then it would suck.
