Using Superlift Drop Down Brakets on a 2wd

Got to go bigger, help me out!

Hey guys, If you dont know me i have a 98 sport with IFS plus its 2wd. I want to go bigger and I need some on help what to do next. Heres my set up. 3 inch lift spindles, 2 inch Torsion Twist, SOA Conversion, and 3 inch body lift. I have 33's and can run 35's with no problem but i made up my mind I want to hit 37's or as big as possible without doing a SAS on it yet. I want to do the 4X4 swap but i dont have the money yet. Do you guys have any suggestions to get the front end off the ground more? THanks in Advance, Pat

Max out the torsion bars. That's the only thing left to do. XplorerKid runs 37s with that same lift.

I was thinking that I could use the superlift kit on a 2wd in the sense that it drops the lower control arms and lowers the torsion adjuster to give you the lift. Does anyone know if this will work?

You'd have problems when it came to the knuckles.

That's why you need to use the Trailmaster kit. It retains your factory spindles. So you could use your 2wd stuff still.

Section525, I already am lifted and want more. I have a 2wd with lift spindles and a torsion twist and SOA. If you lower the control arms you can get more lift. I think it would work because all you are doing is lowering the control arms and the torsion adjuster brakets. What do you think. O yeah the lowered crossmembers only lower the control arms not the diff that i dont have.

Problem is you're only lowering the bottom control arms. Which means you would need longer knuckles/spindles. You know?

The Superlift comes with longer knuckles to make up for this. However, the Trailmaster comes with a knuckle extender that bolts on top of your current knuckle.

So that may or may not work with the lift spindles. But it would be fun to experiment.

he definetly needs the superlift spindle, its 4 inches taller, if he didnt get it then the uppers arms would wear out in no time

Problem is he would need to run a 4wd knuckle. Meaning hack up a CV inorder to keep the bearing/hub together. Which is doable. But using a Trailmaster knuckle extension would be a more cost-friendly choice.

do we know how much TT he has?? because with any of the drop bracket kits he will have to take whatever TT he has out and then do it again, i dont think his torsion bars have enough crank for the 4" drop bracket and then a 2" TT, he'll need longer bolts, so hes only gaining around two inches (because Trailmaster and Superlift are 4")

I was thinking it would work if i fab'd up an extender for my spindle out of 1.5 or 2 inch solid round stock to connect to the upper ball joint. It would look similar to the sterring extension on a body lift. If i got that to work it would be the biggest 2wd suspension lift for Explorers.

Would Trailmaster and Pro COmp work together?

I have a 98 2wd sport with Procomp Lift Spindles, I was wondering if the TrailMaster kit would work with the Lift Spindles From Procomp? I want to go big so if anyone knows anything about the trailmaster front kit, Please Reply to this post to help out, I want to put my offroad club on the map as well as put this web site on the side of my truck.
