Driving down the road today, my t-case split in 2 lol Heard a loud 'pop' and then went home to see it draining itself. I will be putting this in tomorrow morning, and thursday day.

Yea. I will take a pic tomorrow after its pulled out. I was thinking of JB welding it, untill the weekend, but its cracked almost all the way around I think.

awe man that sucks. At least you've got all the parts you need already. If you need any help let me know.

Well, I have most of what I need. Still no boot though. I also cant get the bolts loose that hold the driveshaft on  Damn, they are so stuck!

Man that bites

The 12 point heads? best way is to put a wrench on them and kick it with your foot.

Thats how I always do it in the mustang. The other thing that helps is to heat them up a bit to break the lock-tite loose.

Is that whats holding them, locktite? I used a breaker bar and I couldnt budge the sons of *****es. Only problem with using a torch is I have ATF EVERYWHERE under the truck. If its flamable it will light the whole thing on fire. I got some PB blaster to let sit on there overnight.

Should I get more locktite for when I put them back in?

I dunno if ATF is flamible. You could always go pour some on the driveway and try to light it on fire :)

PB blaster and WD-40 honestly won't help to much...that just gets surfast rust cleaned off of the bolt head. You must lock-tite them back in otherwise they'll back out on you and fall out after causing horrible clunking noises. I found this out from experience. :) Also your supposed to torque them to about 50ftlbs. Use Blue lock-tite

Most deffinately use the loc-tite. I didn't and lost 3 of 4 bolts holding the drive shaft to the t-case. Was scary, just thinking about what would have happened if I would have lost the 4th.

Can you say new olympic event. Explorer pole valut

Oh man I never thought of it that way if the front shaft fell off.....

Now I remember why I put a driveshaft safety loop on the stang....

Ok guys. The leaves are changing and I'm having wheeling withdrawls. I havn't been for like a month. Its horrible I'm starting to show detox signs. Anyone want to get together next weekend and go wheelin? Just to get outa the city and enjoy the outdoors before everything turns white...I'm open to new places or I'll prolly just go up skyline drive on the farmington side and go back behind the mountain on the morgan side (there's damn good wheelin over there) hopefully there isn't alot of snow now. Or if any of you guys have some local area's that are your favs I'll gladly go as long as the commute isn't longer than an hour or so.

I take it every person thats a part of this thread is either dead or their PC blew up.
