That looks great. Like you said, excellent work for a do it yourselfer.

I'll be undertaking something like that in the near future. The lower gray portion of mine will need repainted. The front fenders has significant rust on them as well as the rear passenger door. Right now I wouldn't trade salty Pennsylvania winters for anything!!

Yip, Dad spent about $300 on supplies including 3 quarts of paint.
Rockers/quarter and shipping were about $180.

Now all he needs is a $6 bottle of tire dressing
And maybe some LT235's... he had those and got a speeding ticket, and went back smaller with what she came with. But thats another story

he even had a part in a set of new seats ready for his 66 Olds Delta 88 (that's been a 14 yr project so far, but ready for paint soon hopefully)

Tell your dad that when I was a teenager I had a 1966 Delmont 88 which I painted in 30 minutes using automotive paint and a roller. Careful though, he might pass out

I bought the Delmont as a winter beater for $75 with a blown tranny. I put in a $100 Turbo 400, and a $50 paint job and it was good to go

Yip the salt never ends...
Although I think the rockers will outlast the truck.
Its topping 250 kilometers (155k miles) so Dad only wants another yr or two out of it. Its his "plow vehicle" and he doesn't want to put the plow on the 02, which by the way is having an $1800 tranny rebuild this week.

The 96 is still on its original motor and trans. It has the advance trac system and is great for plowing. Never had any problems.

Its held up well, a couple bubbles starting to form now. But the body is not the problem any more.. pieces of the chassis have fallen off... this winter it will just be a plow vehicle as dad wont drive it on the street (he's got an 02 for that and before winter is over, he'll have an 06+, he's actively looking)
