No one is going to have the answer to MFT other than a brand new software package - not an update - a complete overhaul.

I think you're correct about that. I don't think such a thing is likely to happen for current owners however. Maybe 2013 and beyond might benefit from a full software overhaul, but I can't imagine any sort of fully redesigned package making its way into current vehicles. That's not happening.
