So to lift my 01 2wd Explorer Sport 3", what "Ranger" BL would I need to order....or is there a specific part number for my vehicle, having trouble figuring this out? Also are the shackles a necessity or for additional lift?

Good Lord, this dead horse must hate us how many times we've beaten the damn thing. Performance Accessories PA-883 or Summit SUM-7888300, those are what you're looking for. Shackles act under simple physics, you push the connection downward, you arc the spring more, therefore makes you higher. You must do a TT to even out the front if you put on shackles. And before you ask what kind of shackles, Warrior Products WAR-153.

Thanks, even though the horse may be battered its nice to have direct clarification.
Besides the horse is already dead, what does it care?

The search function cares, thats who. No problem, btw, happy to help.

Hmm, it's weird because even with the BL/TT/Shacks, I can barely fit 33's. Not sure, guess it's just a difference between model years.

Strange, since I'm running 33s on stock wheels and only needed a 1.75" TT and F150 rear leaves. Didn't need any trimming at all. The '01+ Sport wheel wells are larger than all the earlier models, so can fit larger tires with less work. I'm guessing your wheel choice caused the tires to sit farther out and swing in a larger arc, which could rub the fenders or bumper.

BTW, for a body lift, a few people here have used the Sport Trac kit on the '01+ Explorer Sport. It costs more than the Ranger kits, and has a couple of parts left over, but doesn't need any mods for the bumper brackets.

Yea, not too sure to tell you the truth. If I recall they're 12.5" wide, which isn't the widest tire I've heard of, so no tellin, haha.

Stock is 10.5 isn't it? that would explain why you cant fit bigger

Actually I just checked it out with a metric to inches converter online. It says on the inside of my gas cap cover 235/70r16 (which I'm assuming is the stock tire size) which converts to 29" diameter with a width of 9.3 and a height of 6.5. My BFG's that I got are 295/75r16, which converts to 33.4" diameter with a width of 11.6 and a height of 8.7, so they're not as wide as I thought they were. Before I was running 265/70r16 that the previous owner had installed, which converts to a 30.6" diameter with a width of 10.4 and a height of 7.3, so who knows lol. I'm at about 32.5" diameter now, due to the tires having been bought from a previous owner, and I'm at 40" from wheelwell top to the ground in the front and 40.5" in the rear, so I'm not too sure :p:

lol, I think I will take your word for it

Mine are on the smaller side of 33". They are about 32.8" x 11.4" and on a 16x7" wheel.
