What if you are legal in your home state. Then while traveling to another state. Become illegal. Would you get a ticket. I guess it all depends on the policemen that pulls you over.

actually, the cops HAVE to give you a warning...because you are not required to know the laws in every state. However, once they have given you a warning, they can give you a ticket...
i got a warning in wisconsin for my lights, and they put it in the computer, so next time i get pulled over up there for my lights, i can get a ticket
