27 damn pages of water leak issues - how the hell does a brand new car still leak using today's manufacturing technology ? Quality Job none .
I doubt very much that you will see a recall on this issue. While there may be 27 pages in this thread (28 now), many of the posts in it are not from those with the problem. They are posts from members commenting on the issue or suggesting solutions. I fully agree that I'm at a loss to explain why problem still exists after it was first identified in the 2011 models.:scratch:Recall on the way ?

Peter
It rained last night in toronto and guess what my explorer still leaks. Made another appt on Monday. Tired of this non sense . Plus I am still waiting for the ford rep to call me . Tired of chasing them as well .
Is there any TSBs for the water leak issue ? cant find any via my search
Well they have posted many other TSB's so I doubt that's the reason. They have not posted any. I would assume the don't want the bad publicity on there flagship explorer
After 2 yrs and countless trips to the dealer I think or should I say hope my leak in my roof is finally fixed. Definitely the 1st and last Ford I will ever buy!!!! So disappointed in the brand and the crappy customer service.
I have been loving my explorer for three years now, but this water leak on the roof that we have is ridiculous, and to think I have to pay for the fix, because I'm out of warranty... F*** that, first and last FORD.
I was about to purchase a new Mustang, and/or would have considered a new explorer sport, but decided instead on a Jeep Wrangler...
By the way, I still love our explorer, just would not buy again!
Yes, it trickles onto the 3rd row seat belt on the driver side. It might be the sealant on the roof on the rear panel or the roof rail attachment...Where is yours leaking? - is it from the rear 3rd row seat belt area?

Mine leaked there as well..the dealer fixed it in that area but its still leaking..ill keep you posted as well if they find the other source area for the leak.
I took mine in yesterday for the leak. A little background, I bought my 2011 XLT in January and looked for any signs of leaks, but didn't see any. This past weekend and Monday, we experienced heavy rains, some of the same that spurned the tornados in Mississippi and thats when I noticed the leak.
I picked mine up yesterday and the service advisor said that they couldn't tell immediately where the leak was, but they have seen the same thing a few times before. He said I would need to bring it back in so that they can put it in the body shop since the other Explorers that had the leak had a issue with the body seams.I have the CPO warranty and he said that it was covered (I think with the $100 deductible) and that it also covered the rental car from the dealership while the car was being worked on.
I hope this helps anyone else that is having the issue. I will report back once it has been worked on and if it is officially fixed. I'll also post any relevant info I can get from the guys working on it.
