Those do look a bit on the dark side. Mine are a bit lighter and I just scored a set of stockers this weekend to maybe do a 3rd set. I may re-do this set with only one coat of Nightshades as opposed to two. I actually have another set which were just too dark and now sit in a spare parts pile in my garage. Was thinking of sanding them down and starting again. There definitely is a safety element to consider, no matter how cool they look.
One thing to keep in mind to everyone ripping on AK, photos tend to make the tails look darker than they really are. Mine are very visible in daytime and night, and are just a tad lighter than his.
any idea the best paint to use for this? i have seen soo many explorers down here in florida where this is faded. mine isn't yet, because it's from ohio, but i'm sure it will be before long.
did you even read what i said? its blue tint. as you can see the lights still light up red. the blue tint just gives it a cool rasberry color when the sun hits it insted of doing black tint like eveyone else. it does not in any way shine blue
and i had them tinted lighter with the blue tint for over a year and had many cops behind us..never a problem
