What did you do to your 5th Gen?

That is the second one I've seen wrapped that way. Out of curiosity, is it not possible to wrap one of the panels so the pattern runs the other way?
This was the first one I saw. Interior Trim Vinyl Wrap

Absolutely and i thought about it but at 1am and a few cold ones down, i just wanted to see how they turned out. The 3M is way more shiny then the Vvivid vinyl i used but he did exactly what i plan on doing. I'm happy with the results. Looking at that link makes me want to tint the climate control instead of wrapping like he did. i hate all things that show prints and cause glare.

I finally got around to installing my Escort 9500IX Radar detector along with the Smart Cord Live DirectWire. The Detector is mounted to the rear view mirror and the SmartCord unit is attached between the lights in the overhead console. I took power from the switched power connected to the mirror and ran it to the Smart Cord Live unit, then ran the line from there to the Detector. The SmartCord Live connects to my iphone, bluetooth and works with the Escort Live App. I can have my iphone hooked up to Sync 3 for CarPlay and have my Escort App running on my iphone screen.

It's not just a software upgrade. It requires software and hardware changes. Some members have done it themselves.

Since you guys are on the topic, does anyone know if you can swap the whole center console: i.e. radio and climate control set up? I hate the Sony and would love the buttons for climate control and volume that I think the XLT comes with in 2016. I might be a guinea pig for this as used units on eBay are cheap. Just the rear plug pin out is what concerns me

I believe Ford went back to the buttons on all trims in 2016. Part of the 2016 "refresh". Found the following using the 'Search' feature.

I will tell you, I purchased a brand new takeoff apim/screen for 299.00 on Ebay, then purchased the usb hub for 34.99, the usb wiring harness gen 2a for 12.79, the gps antenna for 15.99. I downloaded ForScan for free, then paid for 1 year license for 10.00 to program apim. I went ahead and paid 60.00 for someone to write the asbuilt file for the apim. All told, 450.00.
Just remember you want to get 2018 or earlier built apim, a recessed screen(otherwise you will have to modify the mounting brackets to fit the explorer). I was most nervous about programming the APIM, and the 60.00 I spent was well worth it. The guy wrote out precise procedure and it was a breeze.

Just keep in mind that it will be rated for towing a maximum of 2000 lbs only.

I'm well aware of that Peter. You have posted it numerous times over the years.

Hey Guys, I'm from Russia, sorry for my English, hope you can understand me :)
I have 2017 Sport Model. I installed front Brembo braking system on it. Before this I was using powerstop with z36 front and back. The difference is amazing. My brakes now will NOT overheat after braking from 120 to 60 miles/h several times in a row. Because the caliper is really wide I need to put the wheel spacers on it (25mm = 1inch) in order to install factory sport wheels (ET44). The front calipers now are 6 pistons, the front rotors are 375 mm (14,76 inches). I use now Z23 Braking Pads with this calipers.

What model Brembos did you use and where did you get the bracket for it? Did you have to have it custom made? More installation photos please, lol.

I bought them from some guy in Moscow who installes Brembo Brakes on different cars. He tuned with brembo allready about 10 Explorers in Russia. As I know (I'm not sure) the calipers are Z17, the rotors I know for sure are from Mercedes GL5. The PowerStop Brake pads which fits in are 1405.
The brackets are custom made by him. Here is the photo of the bracket, I painted them black before install.

When I will change my wheels (in about a week) I can make more photos if interested.

Nice, yes I would love to see more. I have the Wilwood kit all the way around. 15" front, 14.25" rear. Nice to see a Brembo option. What about the rear brakes? And will that guy sell brackets?

There are also brembo from him for the rear axle (4 pistons), but you will not have the parking brake option anymore.. Now I’m just testing the front brembo, I hope it will be enough for me, but I can go further and install the rear one too If I will need it.

Thanks for the links! Ive been wanting to put one on mine for a while.. Did yours already have any type of wiring back there or did you have to wire up the trailer lighting harness on your own?

What did you use to do the chrome delete on your tailgate?
The last time the member was seen here was November 20, 2018. Not sure if he's still around.
