no computer simply driven by vaccume hoses and such ( from what ive been told a 5 speed is one of the better trannys to be put in an explorer why would you want it out?)

cause when you shift you dont have any power to the wheels and you get stuck lol

You will need the computer for an automatic transmission to control 3-4 shift and TCC lockup. If you don't get the wiring harness with the computer and transmission, there will be some splicing that would need to be done.

column shifter, flexplate, torque converter, clutch block off plate, clutch pedal switch bypass, non clutch pedal brake pedal assembly, starter, wiring harness, computer, kick down cable, trans cooler & lines, and of course the transmission. with vent tube, & dipstick.

good luck! Took me 3 days, and a month to collect parts. :)

Too bad we live so far apart. I might have suggested we just park our rigs beside each other and swap the parts. :D
I am running a 93 auto but want to convert to 5 speed.

ya that does suck

Keep looking, there are ALOT of members in FL and ALOT of A4LD owners would much rather have the 5 speed.

If I was you I would serisouly consider swapping in a different auto other then the A4LD, you are already going half way there, why not go the rest of the way and run a 700R4 or if you can live with 3 speed C4?

Could a ratchet shifter be used? I think it would be cool to have a shifter on the floor.

My shifter was on the floor, I dont need it now that I am going 5.0L, wanna buy it?

hahaha

It seriously took me months to find this shifter and all the parts I needed to make it work. It is a 1986 Bronco II floor shifter and bell crank assembly, 2wd. The shifter is a factory A4LD unit.

Yes you can use many different cable floor shifters with the A4LD, however Artt Carr is the only one I know who actually makes a floor shifter that will shift the A4LD without modifications.

In one of our projects we used a B&M mega shifter, but it was extensivly modified to match the A4LD shift pattern and throw.

how hard would the 700r4 be to put in?

I like the C5 (3 speed auto). It almost bolts in. I have one in my ranger and love it. Floor shift included. No OD though.

i need the od. but i might just live with the 5 speed are they hard to rebuild?
