post #25 caught my eye... whadduya all think? I don't know crap about ttb. (I already have a solid front :p: ) I'm working with 4x4Newbie on his new 'sploder and figured I'd start figuring out how it all works. Links to any writeups you guys have would be great.
Thanks! :salute:

That is not what I would call a budget lift.
brackets: $200
extended RA's: $600
jeep springs: $200
isolators and hardware to fit the jeep springs: $50
leaf spring perches: $20
pitman arm: $100
extended brake lines: $100
Long rancho 9000's (you'll need adjustable shocks to get them stiff enough to drive on the road with soft ass jeep springs, and still be able to loosen them up when you hit the trails): $200
higher front shock mounts: $40-$150

that's close to $2000 without lockers, gears, or tires.

For a true "budget lift" do what everyone does: 2" suspension lift (several ways to achieve depending upon how short the budget is) and 3" body lift. Now you can fit 33's (although the gearing will suck).

Edit: It is the best way to flex a TTB though, a jeep spring lift is what my truck is heading towards in the near future.

I was looking more at the guy in post #25...

...glfrederick is a member here too...in fact, he sold that X to another member here recently...;)

I searched "glfrederick" but came up empty. I guess he'd be the guy to talk to about his setup, no? What about this 'cut and twist' I hear about... what's up with that?

I got way less that that into mine (which includes the purchase of a Superlift steering kit).

*Skyjacker Jeep coils = $160
*Pivot brackets = $0 (used from another project)
*Radius arms = $40 (stock arms + 4' of 2" DOM .250 wall tubing + 4' of CR flat steel to make the RA frame brackets)
*Spring mounts ($6 (?) for two plumbing flanges, the rubber isolators aren't absolutely necessary)
*Brake hoses = $80 (needed with any lift)
*Bilstein shocks = $160 (single shocks are fine IF your steering linkage geometry is good... duals would still give it more handling control though)
*F-250 shock mounts = $30
*Superrunner steering kit = $350 (simple drop pitman arms can work too, although how well will depend critically on the matching of your lift height to the ACTUAL drop amount of the arm).

Some of those prices are from 2004 though, things like the DOM tube and steering kit are likely higher now.
