what is that part called?

it looks like a shock and it connects the frame to the rear diff/axle housing/driveshaft. mine is all rusted out and id like to replace it but i have no idea what it is. i thought it was a steering stabilizer but someone told me those dont come stock.

I believe it's called a sway shock. Replace it if you would like to but I have heard of many people removing it without effecting the ride (I have no experience with this though).
