that'll work chris. lighs on the rack are very helpful.

My neighbor has three lights on the front of his Land Rover Discovery and he did the Hella 4000's. He went with a pencil beam in the middle and two cornering beams on either side of it. I saw how it looked and it was awesome. The pencil beam was thin and stretched out a long wayz in front, but the two cornering beams lit up a huge area on either side and in front of his car. Great all around combo if you ask me because you get light way out there as well as near your car where you also need it. Just a suggestion.

I think that Warn is the only way to go for a rugged off road light.

They are rugged looking and they have spot and fog beams all on one.
The 160's are approx. 6 inches and the 210 are 8 or 9 inches if you want big lights.

The is a remote control kit that you can buy so no switch wiring is required.

Good Luck on your choice, everyone has there favorite.

I dont know weather or not you got any lights yet .
But i just today got my PIAA 580's driveing lights there sweet...Go with them they will look badass on your truck.

i actually just bought some kc slimlite 130w "ice blue" lights, they are great, but i got the driving lights when i should have ordered the long range ones i think.

Whats the difference between the KC long range and daylighters like the 150's I have?

lol i like the title on the top 15, " what kind of offroad lights should i put on my bum.."

Are there holes already in the bumper so I can easy mount lights in that small opening?

Wow, old thread, but yes there are 2 holes there. Your valance used to be bolted on through those holes, or they had those plastic clips in there or something, but yes those holes are there. I had to enlarge mine tho.

Dan

Damn, any lights you might know of (fog) that could bolt right up without changing the holes?.. Or.. could you tell me the stock size of the holes?.. That would be easier.. and the largest lights I could put in there?..

1/4" bolts will/should fit through there.

Dan

Is that the standard on lights?

Not sure, you can always pick them up at the hardware store and use washers...

Dan

Oh.
I might just pick up some walmart cheapies, is there any place in the back I could bolt up some lights for aux reverse lights?

Mine is a 98, slightly different specs. I'm looking for simple places I could easily bolt right up to, no modification.

If you crawl under your truck, you will find most of your answers, but yes there are 2 holes in the back of the bumper, underneath on the lip, its a large hole that will likely need large washers to keep the bolt from sliding through. I had a set mounted there for about 3 days before I ripped them off climbing a snow bank. I suppose your next question will be how to wire them up? Get a wiring kit with a relay. Use the positive wire from the reverse lights as your trigger wire to the relay, run a line from the battery to the relay, then ground the relay to the bumper. Use the other lead on the relay to send power from the relay to the lights. Ground the lights to the bumper. Not sure which pole on the relay does what, but if you get one it will tell you. This will let your new reverse lights come on whenever you put it into reverse without causing extra draw on the stock back up lights. Usually when you buy the lights they will have directions on how to wire them up. You keep asking a lot of these questions, but the answers are in front of you, you just need to go out and look at your vehicle. Where you want to mount things is up to you, you decide what will look good then make it work. Drilling a hole or 2 here and there isn't hard as long as you have a decent bit and a drill that works.

Anyone have any experience with these in the bumper?

I have something similar on the front of my truck, as long as they are the fog pattern and not the driving light pattern they will work fine. The fog pattern will put out a broader beam of light, where as driving is more focused.
