Make sure you get Aluminum Polish and not Chrome Polish. To clean wheels I usually just use a rag/sponge with soap and water and clean all the junk off of there. After that I polish and then buff out. Does a great job. Some chemical cleaners do leave a residue, but I would just use simple green.
I use Mothers ALOT at work, about 90% of the time, it needs nothing, very seldom you need to give it a wipe, but it works very well. I've never had to scrub.. I think all the "no-wipes" can leave a film depending on what chemicals/mud/residue is on the rim to begin with. if you clean it and it starts drying white, hit it with the hose, and just wipe it with a cloth, it'll shine right up
I have the same problem polishing up my mickey II's. I have used every cleaner out there just about. In the spring I am thinking of taking my wheels off and using steel wool to get them all shiny then clear coat them with something. Any suggestions on cleaners or clear coating aluminum would help out.
The wheels on my car got bad and I tried most of the wheel cleaners in the store & on the web. This stuff is by far the best. It does what the ad says it does and is easy to use. I have no hesitation in recomending it. http://www.properautocare.com/wheelwax.html
That sounds good, in fact I use and recommend that supplier to detail your ride. I use the Blackfire Wheel Cleaner on my tires and somewhat bizare looking stock chrome Explorer Sport rims. Works good when agitated with a soft brush- but I will definately try the wheel wax.
Four Star Auto's Ultimate Wheel Cleaner geal works the best out of all the one's I have used. It works so good in fact they were giving free sample bottles away last year.
