plain and simple you are 100% wrong in every aspect of that.
I don't know that he is. The part about doing 80-85 on the highway, maybe, but it was designed to handle 105, if it wasn't made to they would have limited it at 70mph. You can hit 90 or more if you took it out to the track to get some drag times. It should be able to handle what they limit it too.
With that being said they can still screw you over, and there is nothing you can do about it. Raise a fuss, try your best, but don't expect much.
We had a Pontiac that had a recalled fuel regulator. It broke right as the recall came out. It ended up totally messing up the motor, the dealership tried to start it and run it without checking anything and seized the motor. They said they would only replace the $25 regulator. We fought it and they couldn't have cared less. So because of that recalled part it cost us several grand to get a new motor in a car with less than 50k on it, even though it was their fault.
