Where to put the switch...

i have never had a cap before and dont know how to install one (yet). i also dont let anybody touch my stereo setup because i do all my own installs. hopefully a friend will buy a cap so we can learn how to install it together...from what i hear, its fairly simple.

Mines a 94 4x4 sport and it came with a
95amp, 1425watt alternator

I installed my stereo hehe, its a mess =P No where
in anchorage is there ends for a 8 gauge wire,
which came with my AMP for power, and im too
lazy to replace the wire especially now thats its
winter, so I just used a conector and some electrical
tape and converted the 8gauge into a 12 gauge...
whats the worse that could happen? lol

A cap is real easy, it just goes inline to the amp on the 12+ wire.

cool! does it mount to the firewall? and is it remote switchable like the amp (does it require a remote line)?

and, re:jtucker
....it wont really hurt anything unless some wire gets loose and grounds out or you are pushing more than say...250-300 watts thru it. i used to do that all the time, then i want and bought a 4 ga. kit. and got a buddy to do some soldering for me.

Yeah, eventually I am gonna go in and do it right,
its just too damn cold here in AK to do it right now lol
