I would get the tires

Then, I would either pay off some credit cards, or go see my GF (she lives in Nicaragua) or I would Spend the rest of the cash on a Winch and some accessories for that. If you got like 32's or 33's and you got at least an 8,000lb winch and you still get stuck, you ain't got no business goin' there in the first place.

According to this, you will need atleast 6" suspension lift. Also what are your gears? You may need to re-gear for that tire size.

Here is the link:Dead Link Removed

I agree with premier get a suspension lift and re-gear. If you go with 35's then get 4.56's. If you have any money left over look into a locker

A little off topic, but I'm looking at a 240z that's already got some choise mods. Another way for JohnV to get more of my money.

Pay off a credit card.

If it were alrady paid off I would get an Apten Chip
a steak dinner and the rest into my 401k

Invest in the stock market or put it in the savings account. That's what I did and while my X may not be 3 inches higher than stock, I still love it;)

If you are going to spend the $2500 on the truck and you want the end result to be 35" tires.

Do you want to run 35's for looks or do you want to run 35's because they kick ass on the trail on a 4 door Ex?

For offroad first I would spend some removing the body lift, or at least reducing it.
then consider the suspension:
solid axle swap is your best bet for running 35's

35" tires are really pushing it for the D35 ttB. You can run them but you will be come an expert at wheel bearing maintenence and you will want some spare hubs/parts.

A D44 solid axle would really hold those tires and then some. Besides everybody is doing it! There will be so many solid axle Explorer's out there you will think Ford made them! There is a good reason behind that, they wheel like mad!

So it really depends on what you want to get out of the truck.

Also they will not clear with merely a 5" lift, you can run flares, trim the stock metal, or run fiberglass (or keep your BL) Personally my truck is already to top heavy to raise the center of gravity more so I want to avoid the body lift for 4x4ing)

then get a locker or two and like above I also recommend a steak dinner and some flowers for your GF who is now pissed about the amount of $$$, work, and time you just spent on your project truck :)

hahaha

long travel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd buy a 79 Bronco....:)

I'd probably put the money into my Ex, but I really want a 1957 Chevy

OK...after asking everyone and their brother what they would do, I have come to my decision.

I will go with the 4in Skyjacker with extended Radius arms.

Since this is my daily driver until spring time ( Then I will pick up a 350Z ) Im not going to run 35's. I will pick up the 33x12.5x15 Mickey Thompson Baja Claw Radials.

Im also going to do the Perry's 91-00 front end conversion.

If I have any cash left over I will probably put it in the paint and a push bar.

You probably will still want to regear. Unless you are at 3.73's the truck will just kinda drag. I as using 4.10's for 33's

I've got 4:10's and 33's and I could use an apten chip to change the shift points. Might want to consider that if you go that route.

If it's a daily driver the Mickeys won't be too great. They have a real quick wear on road.

That's what I hear about the Mickeys too. I've examined BFG Mud Terrains and M/T baha claws and I went with the BFGs They're pretty aggressive!
