It started snowing here tonight. The weather channel says 1-3 inches. It is also suppose to snow some tomorrow. Good thing I put my winter tires on 3 weeks ago. Now I'am ahead of the game.

No snow hear yet.. but the temp is dropping into the low 30s tonight.. All my storm windows have been down for a few weeks, and we have yet to turn on the furnace.. currently its about 63F in my house...

No snow here yet either. I put my storm windows down in September when the temps were dipping at night. Next is the plastic on the windows so I can keep the thermostat at 60 all winter long.
;)

I usually keep mine around 68. I have a super effiecient Baxie Furnace. When it gets below zero, I will turn it up a little bit. I hope you guys are on Natural Gas like me. Cause burning Oil sucks.

We used to keep the house @ 74F :fire: because Nancy was always cold. Well for the past year we've been keeping the heat @ 63-65F because its now too warm for her :dunno:. I have oil heat, but also have 2 working fireplaces.. The fireplaces are nice for visual effect, but terrible at heating. I want to replace the one in our living room with a wood burning insert to bring its efficiency from 20% to 80%+. I grew up with wood burning stoves and they were great for drying out all the wet clothes & gloves from playing in the snow :)

By keeping our thermostat as low as possible we can do our part to help lesson our dependence on foreign oil. As a side benefit we save some $$ in the process.

Hmm, out here, last night we got...

...none.

Way to bump an old thread as well as putting in a shameless AZ plug to make us all jealous :wtf:

It was the 2nd newest thread....this forum needs life and apparently I'm playing God for the 2nd time here.....*cough*

Sunday we had some lovely ice pellets & some snow flurries. Obviously nuttin stuck. Can't wait to use the 4X4 again this year. ;)

I've used the snow blower twice this year so far...

Hey there,

Haven't been around here in a while. Like of of Mass right now, we are getting pounded with snow. Went for a little stroll earlier tonight and found some parking lots and had some fun. But the AWD is working amazing in these crappy condition we have been dealing with lately.

glad to be back,

Pierce

Just so you Easterners know you are not alone!!!

Snow....not a lot, only about 5 inches total. We got the most of it on Weds...but the issue here is, it has not been above 25 degrees in 5 days, and well, ice is just damn nasty to drive on with no 4WD and in a roller skate (our Geo Tracker 2wd w/rear wheel drive that only weighs 2000 pounds fully loaded!) Add to that high winds on Weds and a bit on Thurs, and I hate it!!!! :frustrate

I drove a wrecker and know how easy it is to total a vehicle even at lower speeds. But, then there's all the idJets who think that cause it *looks* dry and clear (not that there could be ice on the road...noooo there can't be ice there) who decide that my very safe speed is not fast enough and have to try to pass me on narrow two lane roads....GRRRR!!!

And we are supposed to drop down to about 6 BELOW 0 tonight...then get hit with more snow starting Saturday afternoon.

Oh and did I mention we do not have a furnace in our house? We haven't since our propane furnace died about 6 years ago...all we have are three of those oil filled electric heaters, and a little portable electric on with a fan.

I am ready for summer already already already...

Maybe I wouldn't be so bad if my truck was running..you know, brand new A/Ts on a 4WD truck that weighs more than 2000 pounds? Yep...I would feel much better driving my lady to work, instead of the roller skate.

We got about 14" today, starting at about 4:00am.

Highways were clear- no snow- by 6:00pm. Thanks MDOT! In general our road commissions and DOT plow guys do an incredible job.

Around 12" today. Another storm due Sunday and another due Tuesday. Damn I love my Ex and my 32's!!!! Can't wait to lift it!!!

Dude....

It's not even winter yet!!! :D

So far i've seen the snow on tv, but haven't seen any in person this season, YET....

As I was leaving work around 4:30ish yesterday we had 6in easy after 3hrs of snowing. Roads weren't plowed. Thank you Gov. Rell for all that preplanning that didn't F*CKIN go in effect.
People weren't smart enough to pull a train, but let's drive side by side on a normally 2 lane road & race like we can still drive 50mph on it.
I had the 4X4 on as soon as I pulled out of my jobs parking lot but still had to deal w/a$$holes in non 4X4 (& some in 4X4) that didn't know how to drive in almost a foot of snow.

We have well over a foot of snow on the ground now & still getting flurries. I have some errands I have to run today so I'm sure I'm gonna have many thoughts of 4X4 moments expecially near the mall area ; )

We have about a foot heading are way from the US for sunday

You're lucky, we got it yesterday and the next round comes through here on its way to you. Enjoy!!!

I've had a blast out playing in the aftermath. :D
