Are all Sport Tracs with a 4.6 3v a cast iron block, and the standard Explorer has the aluminum block? Is that right?
I know the previous gen 04 explorers got the aluminum 2v block, and the mustangs now have the 3v aluminum block. Seems like the extra weight drop would be ideal for Ford's requirements to meet CAFE standards on fuel mileage.
Hell, if it had been an extra option on the ticket, I would have opted for aluminum!
