whats the price on the allen setup?

I'm asking $3,900 shipped. Keep in mind I just did some pretty major upgrades on it. I added the Magnum Powers blower case ($600), intake work for the case ($800), and im also including my entire 8rib pulley/idlers/dampener kit ($600). So that's $2,000 it just got with about 30 miles of use and the dyno time. And the kit only has about 7k miles on it. If someone does not want the pulleys ill knock off $300. So by buying the entire kit you will get the pulleys at 1/2 price of what I paid. I will also include the Mustang a/c compressor that is needed for the 8rib pulley.

This AED is the first to push a 2v over 400whp, in an SUV with very heavy wheels/tire combo. The trick was the Magnum Powers case, intake work, 8.5'' dampener and meth, and of course the built motor and exhaust, everyone else has tried it with fully built motors and cars that have way more drivetrain loss. So to pull this off on the X was quite an accomplishment. I have the recipe to push this kit to over 500whp, it has it. That was my next goal.

The only parts it will not include are the injectors and MAF as I will need them, but those can be sorted out pretty inexpensive.

god that is a steal.

most ppl aren't gonna swap out there stock 4.6 so what kind of numbers do you think it would put down on a stock 4.6? i love the look of that SC i think its sexier then the KB

Well if you mean stock displacement 4.6L, forged and built motor / exhaust you can still push the the SC as much as I am. If you mean stock rods and pistons with heads and exhaust, IMO you might still be able to reach close to 400whp, because the stock short blocks are know to handle 400ish whp.

If the SC was with the stock case, intake ect, you couldn't make 400whp even at 13psi with this blower. So IMO even at say 350whp and 13psi, the pressure would be to high IMO to handle 13psi for the piston lands and rods, even though it might only be making 350whp. I made 400+whp at just 9psi, so if ones has a stock short block, but good heads and exhaust, crap, you might make very close to 400whp at a low sustainable psi. Maybe not 9psi because my big bore flows better than a 4.6, but I can realistically see maybe about 360ish at about 9psi with a slightly bigger blower pulley to lower the psi about 1 point. So 9psi with a good tune, stock short block, worked heads and exhaust possible with this kit, IMHO. Then just forge the bottom and leaving it to a 4.6L, it would be right behind my big bore in every level prob about 35-40whp shy.

But the question is so open for sooo many combination's that it really is hard to say. If you are talking about on a completely stock motor, exhaust and all... hmmm, well the AED is designed for a complety stock car, they provide a 6psi and 9psi pulleys. Well lets see... stock HP is 239 to the motor, take out say 20% for the wheels? Puts the stock X at 191whp. Then the stock AED kit at 9psi, you might see about at most prob about 8whp per psi, so maybe about 266whp for a STOCK m90 case and non worked AED intake. The MPX blower case at about 350+whp typically see's about 10-15whp per psi depending on how well everything else flows, my setup def is in the upper bracket as I got 401whp at just 9psi. So let's assume that with my modified intake and MPX case, that maybe it will see about 12whp per psi on a stock long block and exhaust (prob see closer to 15whp with my current setup after 350whp mark). So this AED on a complete stock truck no exhaust nothing... prob tipping right at 300whp, and about 266whp on a stock AED kit. As the blower gets spun faster, the numbers on the stock case will start to go down as the stock blower case will start to escape its efficiency range and have diminishing returns, while this MPX case will become more efficient, so you can see the trade off between low psi and and when you start to over spin it.

geez they are even really good numbers. i was figuring number on just a stock motor with intake and exhaust

I'd guess that there is 400hp of potential for a stock Explorer, if you can tweak it a little. I think the stock heads and cams are a restriction, so those would need some help. I am no expert at all to say anything about the 4.6 engines. A serious person would contact a number of real experts of those. I'd look hard at different cams, and the valvetrain that is required to make that work best. I think the same help with Alex's combination would have had him over 450hp easily.

The transmission is becoming an issue as you get over 400hp though, keep that in mind. Regards,

I think the same help with Alex's combination would have had him over 450hp easily.

Yep.

Thanks for the help with contacting Jay.

My Trick Flows are on there way to him for some custom grind cams.

Excellent, is he familiar with those heads?

Excellent, I think you just discovered the biggest speed secret you will. Jay can do more with an engine combination than any off the shelf cam(s), and basically everything on these forums is OTS stuff.

Is he going to make the cams for the new supercharger also, did you include all of the new parts on the build sheet? Well done Alex.

Geez this is an awesome build.

I wish I had a: the money you've poured into this project, and b: the cash to buy that blower. :(

This is one Ex I would love to see in person when its done and running. Keep it up!!

I know. How about a group buy on the blower, and you guys can share it 6 months at a time :D

In for the group buy, thanks:D

edit: does the motor and trans come with it?

My tranny is still stock :). And we can throw in the short block in the group buy :D

I'd probably need the computer harness too, since I have a 2nd gen. Hmm... my mom has a 3rd gen:D

Lol, she gets in not knowing about the recent addition, touches the gas pedal, and takes off flying down the road, screaming that her X has gone insane!
