Work in progress, TONS of pics.

Without thinking about it to much just off the top of my head, there's 15k+ under the hood. And about 1 trillion worth of my own man hours :).

If memory serves me right the long block was about $7,800 and the SC was about $4,600.... then add LOTS off parts.

Damn dude.

When you gonna take a trip up to the Dyno?? Would love to see some numbers for this beast.

And are you still running the stock 5r55s?

About to drive it out of my garage for the first time in about a year or more, in just a few minutes, going to take it around the block easy and so on. If all checks out I should have it at the dyno next week.

Yes stock 5r55w with an upgraded torque converter.

Nice!

let us know how it goes.

Just went around the block lightly. All perfect so far.

haha

See that hand print on the windshield? I almost went through it when I was lowering the SC on the motor. I got up over the motor.

Nice Alex, it's still very cleanly done and looks great. Take it easy until you get a good tune on it.

Do you have any room left up front to mount another oil filter? I would add a bypass filter to keep the oil cleaner than the regular filter, plus run Amsoil for 12-15,000 miles.

Thx.

Now that everything looks like its pretty solid ill start to tuck away all of those wires you see kinda just out there. I'm going to wire up a push button today also.

Yes I have been wanting to do the Amsoil and filter for a while now. How close does the filter have to be to the factory filter?

There are two ways to do a bypass system. I prefer to leave the stock filter(full flow) in place, and add another oil path just for the bypass filter. Some people like to relocate the OEM filter and the bypass filter, to a large adapter that takes them both.

The only hard part is finding a place to run the oil back into the engine. You can tap into the oil pressure sensor easily, and run 1/4" lines from there to the adapter. I suggest buying the adapter separately, the kits start at about $150. You can buy the adapter alone for about $25, remember that Amsoil charges for taxes and high shipping. You know what oil lines will cost you, the fittings can be high depending on the brand you use. The bypass kits don't come with any filters, and the two from Amsoil will be close to $40 etc.

In the end though it's much cheaper to piece together just what you need. Note that the bypass filter is about 50% larger than an FL1A, so it takes up a little more room than a common trans filter adapter. I hope to find a space on my front frame behind the bumper. Do you already have an oil return of some kind for your supercharger?

no it has self contained oil.

Oh wait, don't all modular engines have a pan that is not hard to remove? I'd hope so, that's a great place to install a fitting.

I have my exhaust running in the way of the pan for easy removal!

I already have a cluster fudge of copper fittings where the stock sender is after plumbing the oil pressure copper line. I can add more copper fitting there for the filter.

sounds awesome keep up good work

That button eventually be hidden out of sight (I already had a hole there so that's why I mounted it there for now). I guess it could be kinda a theft deturent.

But that's not why I originally wanted it, its a secret fetish I couldn't resist ;)
