I know I can search for the answer. But the quick question / answer is: Does someone make a lift kit for a 99 4x4 xlt? Explorer of course. If there is I will do a search on that brand name. Thanks in advance.

Good News.......YES

Trailmaster came out with a lift for the newer explorers about a year ago now. Check out these two links for more info.

I'd also like to take this time to welcome you to the site. You'll find anything and everything all right here.

I've heard here on the board that superlift is currently "developing" a lift for the 98+ explorers, meaning that's what they say, but we haven't seen any results. Just thought I'd throw that in there if maybe you wanted to hold out for it since Trailmaster's is so expensive

Ya, Trailmaster already has a lift in production. You can also get a 98-00 Ranger 3" bodylift for a lot less.

Does anyone know how tall a 99 xlt with the 4" trailmaster and BFG 285/75/16 would be....I am wondering if mine will fit in my garage if I take off the luggage racks.

Height

4" plus the difference between your new tire size and your old tire size and divide that by half.

In other words if you have 30"(255/70R16) stock tires and you put on the 33"(285/75R16) tires then you will add 1.5 ".

4"+1.5"=5.5"

add that to stock height and that will get your modified height.

You can also do a torsion twist to get 1.5 more inches in front and some WP shackles for $50 for 1.5" in the rear.
