I was just told by my dealership that my explorer is in production. What does this mean?

Has your dealer givin you your VIN and or your build date? If so in Productions means it is being built. If you do have your VIN handy ,go on to the sticky and see how to get your window sticker , then punch in the proper URL and your VIN number on there it will give you your VIN ,BUILD DATE , AND ALL THE GOODIES THAT YOU ARE BUYING., everything about your truck
I have been checking for my window sticker for days now and no luck. I was told last week when I received the vin that my estimated build week was 5/2. Does in production mean it was built earlier than 5/2? If so, why is there no window sticker?

No , Your EX has not yet been built. If your window sticker has not come up yet when you punch in the correct fields, it has not been BUCKED or started production. As I understand it the sticker will show up as soon as your vehicle starts the production cycle ,but no sooner. If you have a build week of 5/2 it is any day between the Monday and Friday of the week. Generally speaking your sticker will show on line appx 5 days prior to the roll off day, meaning the day your Ex actually comes off the line . Your dealer can give you the actual build week not an estimate, your build day will show on the sticker.Hope this helps you.
wait so the date on the window sticker is the day it goin to roll of the line seni told me last Thursday that it has been sent to production but my window sticker says 4/28/11 which is the so called build date
Thanks

As shoeman described, being sent into production, simply means that the beginning steps in order to be built are starting. For example, the making and processing of the window sticker happens at this time. Build dates as seen on window stickers are subject to change and actual building usually happens within that week. Again, it is subject to change.
Calabrese94, this info may be reaching you a bit late since your Explorer has been built and is in transit already. However, I thought this would be good information for all eyes.
