Gold Emblems

When I bought my '97 the previous owner had gold tinted the emblems (gold trim around the grill and back hatch blue ovals, gold door locks and gold tinted rear hatch "EXPLORER XLT, CONTROLTRAC 4WD"). I had to buy a new "EXPLORER XLT, CONTROLTRAC 4WD" emblem, but was told by the dealer that I cannot buy it in gold . Question: How can I gold tint this emblem myself. Thanks.

Here are the pics requested. I don't know if you can see on the pics, but the door locks are beginning to flake off also. I would include pics of the "EXPLORER XLT, CONTROLTRAC 4WD", but it is missing...

that looks spray painted to me.... why not just do the same to the emblems?

there is a machiene that " gold plates " embelms. It works off an electrolisis process. The machiene is costly as is the process. I would not even know who you would call to get one. Maybe a dealership might have a guy they call.
