Everything seems to be good so far as the rearend goes. I put about 100 miles maybe a little more since i changed the fluid. no leaks or weird sounds. So i'm just gonna stick with it & hope it lasts for some time.
 






Excellent, great to hear, just drive it now.

I'd go back into it after a long while, say 6-12 months, when your ready, and have new axle bearings and seals ready to install. Those axle bearings are the weakest links, and not too bad to replace. I'd do the parking brake pads also when the axles are out to do the bearings, and tighten up the parking brake a lot.
 






I am glad your diff. Did not turn out to be toast . Pound for pound the ford explorer's are very hard to beat . But i prefer the x code v6 . Good luck with your explorer & holler if you need us .
