replacing amp and sub, need advice and some ?'s answered

finally got a new head unit for my 96 EB with the JBL system in it, i have given up trying to get my sub hooked up, for some reason no matter what i do i can not get the remote amp thing to turn on, and i have followed every post about it on here....with that said, im going to get a new amp, i am just not sure what kind to get, i want the cheapest possible one i can find, i have a 6 1/2 sub in the back that is 150w rms, 4 ohm's and 300w peek, so im trying to find something that will work with that sub without blowing it out
i have two pre amp rca jacks on my head unit besides all the regular speaker wires, which work just fine, just have no sub, hence why i want an amp to hook up to the rca pre amp's for the sub

oh i have also removed the stock amp and the rear radio

also my question is, if you hook up a speaker directly to the rca pre amp jacks, will anything come out? or you DO need an amp for it?
