Badlands 08

aric-i think there's still an easier line one the one side. However there's some stuff further over that's gotten bigger. at EF i was able to climb the middle but I can't anymore. WB is too short as the ledge is taller now. I did get good and stuck on the far left in that lengthy rock crawl

For those of you that have been there before how much of the park do you think we'll see over 2 days? Just out of curiosity.

Hey, i just noticed the silver X up on the right...Thats the 92..

Say, I was just looking at www.badlandsoffroad.com
In the rules it says "Roll bar protection for ALL occupants in vehicle" under the rules. How does that work for people with mostly stock trucks?

That is for thing like J**ps that don't always come with a cage. A factory cab will be fine.

I concur. I noticed the same thing about their site and looked around some more and finally found were it said J##ps/SUVs need rollcage unless they are a hardtop.

Anyone know if they enforce the "no backseat passengers" rule?

jman, you should keep your first post updated with tentative dates, and a list of people that said they would make or maybe make it. this way if someone sees the thread they wont see 400 posts and feel left out. it will keep the information more clear for everyone that wants to come also.

I am guessing they will, and if you have a passenger who goes that far and then can't ride, they might not be too happy with you.

That would be smart. I'll work on it.

Only thing is alot of you guys are saying maybe and we don't really have a date. Guess i'll just say April - June for now.

EDIT:
Done with the above mentioned

If anyone switches to deff. coming let me know. Also if you guys know of others in your area that would be interested let them know.

Thanks. I didn't want to just have a HUGE list of maybes so i thought i'd make it more informative.

I had a rear passenger when i rolled throught the gate. They made me take out my cooler and thats it. As long as they have a seat belt accesible they are fine.

Good to know.

Well you can probly do the entire green trail that I am aware of in 1 day. There's also the orange, and I have not done it but here theres nearly bypasses for anything wild. I definately want to try the orange too. There's quite a few spots to play around in and quite a bit of time can be spent in the quarry. There's rock crawling there for any level wheeler.
The roll cage thing applys to me. If you're truck has the factory roof, which is a permanent roof you're fine. They will check coolers for alcohol. I think the campgrounds there are great. They're cheap and clean, and hopefully will have the permanent bath house done. I've always camped the primative sites ($7 per person per night) and may bump up to the powered/watered site. It's nice to have water and power, especially at dinner and beyond. Should I come, I'll probly have a friend on a quad and a noob jeeper with too.

Sounds good. I'm not HUGE on rock crawling i think its cool and all but i don't think its that wild. I'm more about the trails. I am looking forward to playin in the drainage tunnel though. And who knows i'm sure if IZwack comes he might be able to turn my view on rock crawling around.

Accomplished by:

1) strapping you in the Explorer
2) rolling the Explorer upside down on its roof in a rockpile

Resulting in your view of rock crawling being "turned around" -- the rocks become more intriguing, closer and more intimate :D

I call riding on the roof!

Edit: I mean, um, I will watch from the side.

LOL it's so simple! IZ.. you better head out yonder so I've got another guy willin to get a bit wild. Also, the guy who builds my truck when i choose to not do it and he only lives 30min away. He knows the place inside and out and in that ledge pic above he's got the large jeep on the left crawlin in the rocks. He's good. He took me and the bronc on 33s on stuff I never would have otherwise tried. Also, he's done a lil bit of competing down south on some crawlin comps. So we'd be well led!
