I don't know if he meant 5" or 5'....he IS in Colorado....
And from what I understand, Jamie is 4'10"....hence the "410" in his name...."Fortune" is name of the Elevator Company his dad owns....or something along those lines...
Ryan
edit: LOL....I could have sworn that you wrote...or SOMEONE wrote that you were 4'10"....come to think of it, it was probably a joke, and the humor/punchline/tone was lost in the monotone playback of the internet...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I am 5'-11"
I meant 5' of snow, the barn is at 7500' elevation, my parents live in the foothills of denver = we get 4' of snow overnight and you cant get to the barn by vehicle from Nov to April most winters (except by snowmobile!!)
I did my V8 converion in my dad's barn, it took like 5 month of trugging through the snow, warm up the barn and tools, then wrench... those were some cold and long nights!! Worth every minute!!
4 10 or Four ten comes from the old days when everyone had pagers... remember pagers? we all had a code, so you dont have to type your full number, I would just use 4-10 as my code so my friends knew who to call back
Four ten sounds like Fortune, which is my last name
then when the internets was first born (thanks Al Gore) and I had Prodigy Online it asked me for a user name, I couldnt think of anything but my pager code, so the username 410fortune was born...
Then I found Fordranger.com and Kunz corner a 2.9L performance website.. I was told back then You cant lift a BII, you cant put any other engine in it, etc... Boy little did we know back then what would happen!!
Few years later Fordranger.com was shut down and I had seen this place coming to life, so I joined up over here
I think that was like 1998 or some crap!
My dad and I run an elevator consulting business Fortuneelevators.com if you are interested.

I bought mine from Summit back in the day when I had to tune my Oldsmobile.
I think I may still have one on my shelf...if you need it, I can send it to you.

You should have no trouble finding sensor bungs. All exhaust shops will have them.
FYI, there used to be a device called a spark plug anti-fouler or arrestor that would go in the head first, before the plug. The contraption shielded the plug supposedly keeping the plug from fouling. Those may still be available, and one end will be the same as an O2 sensor bung. Muffler shops would buy those if they ran out of the real bungs. They just cut them off to use the part they needed.

That's a darn good tip. Someone once told me the bungs are the same size as a spark plug....

Woah sorry I got no emails fir all these replies!
I don't have any pictures but in the 8hlurs I was workin on it today, well maybe 7 hours, anyway I got the 4.0 about ready to come out. Need to u bolt the headers and the trans then, GASHUNK, out comes the engine
I don't know weather I'll get the 5.0 in by tomorrow but I will work on it for longer.
I didn't think... jamie...jaime... (Dammit I forgot how to spell it sorry. I'm terrible with names) could be 4'10. Wouldn't even be able to get in that bronco.
I promise I'll take many pics for the Implant phase of the swap.
I just figured you'd allkready seen all the standard 4.0 stuff.
I never had a beeper myself. But I can remember when they came out with the ones were you could acualky send a TEXTual message!!
Who woulda thought. I bet it's just one a those fads.
It'll never catch on.

..Yeah...the COOL pagers/beepers were the clear-ish multi-colored ones (Same type of colors and plastics as the original iMac, but YEARS before the iMac came out) that had the LCD on the side!..you were limited on the # of characters you could send, I think it was something like 40 characters. Here we are almost 20 years later, and we can send text messages that are 4x that long, but the basic idea was started WAY back then...

Remove the Transfercase. Remove the Transmission. Remove the Engine.
In that order.
I've done it MANY times. I think I have it down to 4 hrs. to R&R a 4.0L...
Do you have a Fan Wrench? Did you remove the Exhaust Crossover? Pulling the Upper intake gives you a little more 'lift' out of your engine hoist..

Very cool...making progress.
Do you have help pulling the trans/motor?
Do not forget to pull the starter, and unbolt the TC from the flexplate...
It CAN be done Solo...I just don't recommend it.
