How big is the hole that the bump stop goes in? Jeep uses those isolators in the XJ, TJ, ZJ, and I think the WJ. They might work if they are the right diameter.

Thanks!

Another question, this time about coil springs-
is there a way to get progressive springs which will ride softer and get "stiffer" as they compress? Any recommendations?

They are made.. My Duff springs are like that.. WildHorse sells springs like that too (EB springs).

I'd assume that there are Jeep springs like that (I "think" you said your running jeep springs).

variable rate coils are nice nice! I love my old Duff ones
Look at early bronco coils I know they make them in different lengths and spring rates readily available

Ok so I ordered some final thingys on feb 1 and still did not recieve them.
I placed 2 orders. One was for 4 standard misalignment shims and a frame mount panhard bar bracket from ballistic.

I recieved the box, and they only sent 2 shims. I called them , they looked at the picture of the shipment and yes, they only saw 2 there also.

OK, if you can take a picture of the shipped parts there is no excuse for it being incorrect. bottom line

They said they were going to overnite them, but lied again. You know how I know?

I also was missing a complete shipment from ruff stuff. I need 2 7/8" bore heims, and also a forward axle mount panhard bracket.

I called them and found out all the big guys are at KOH playing.
The contact , named Ramsey, called Dan at KOH. Dan was like--"Facepalm I forgot to shop that stuff."

At 8:00 PM last night Ramsey sent me an email saying the stuff was overnighted. At 12:00 midnight he sent another saying he was a new guy, but determined to save their business.

The order arrived at 10:30 this am. UPS overnite. 14 hours from when he shipped it from California.

So how come I see no Ballistic stuff?

I'd go ballistic on Ballistic! But yeah they are cutting up badly -- all the chatter going on in other forums.

apparently Ballistic has made enough money and Ruff Stuff hasn't,,lol

I'd go ballistic on Ballistic!

I think I did.

:D
it is all a blur now.

On a side note, I am putting this link here so I don't loose it.
Thanks Corkey:thumbsup:

Do you have a picture of the Panhard mount you were reffering to?

they also sell the tubing i believe in aluminum, you can bend it with a conduit bender to make just about any shape you want,

One stick of 1.25" stainless 72" long
one stick of 1.25 DOM 48" long
And courtesy of our hero, IZWack 1 stick of 1.5" 48" long

I was intending to use the 1.5" for the tie rod bar, however I think it will be great for extending the radius arms.

Therefore, I will use the 48" piece for the tie rod, and hack the stainless for the drag link. The existing panhard bar is double heimed, I may just try to rework it. If not I have more tube.

All ends will be threaded at a machine shop which says they can get a 85-90 percent thread tolerance.

Here's the links and stuff.

on the left is the forward axle panhard bracket
on the right is an outside frame upper panhard bracket

The joints are oriented about where they will be. 7/8" bore heims for the drag link to allow a high misalignment bushing and 3/4" bolt.

The large shim washers are safety shims, they catch the joint if the ball fails. I will use these on the tie rod ends.

Just be patient, We're getting there.

Sweat!

Changing the front diff fluid went very smooth, right up to the point of the powder coated cover's fill plug not coming out at all.
Yup, got the fluid drained, cleaned out the gunk, put on the sealer, torqued down the "new" cover and that fill plug will not budge. I attempted for over an hour and decided to just clean up and coat the original cover. It is burning off right now.

The good news is, the front diff has a locker!! Sweet.
Hopefully the rear won't give me any issues tomorrow.

Its definatly a lunchbox locker. It looks like the powertrax one I had but I'd assume most lunch box lockers look pretty much the same when installed.

It is a power trax. Thought I had told you that was in there :)

I have worked with Boat tops for years... part of owning old POS boats is sewing up the canvas before it rips more, repairing the nylon hinges, etc

You know what I noticed? I'm getting old. :p::D

You probably told me, my internal filing system let me down. It has been doing that a lot lately.

And Jamie, don't forget your Oil pan on the evil step child to the left.
