Another OHV M90 build

I think it was at midnight auto on the end of Springfield. Maybe even just around the corner.

There was no front end damage, and motor looked ok at a glance. Was raining pretty bad when I saw it, so I didn't spend much time looking at it.

was it a black limited by chance? if so, i know which one your talking about. saw it there this winter, but it didnt have a motor.

Tell me about it!!about at the end of my rope when it come to spending any more money on this project!really regretting even starting this!!

JD, I tell ya I feel you on this.. I have been looked at.. laughed at.. made fun of.. and more than anything my wife hates my truck (which any married man, will tell you is not a good thing). Though, I did recently sort out my own ignorance learn what my problems where. Decided to pull logs on the hwy and managed to walk on a 2010 v8 stang. Tell you I still have a ****-eatin' type of grin for better lack of the words. My friend was baffled as was I.

Side note: now given what I said, I would appreciate it if my comment here is left alone. As I am sure there will be a few who read it and will beg/ask of a video. I don't do it, dyno footage will be posted sooner than later now that I know things are not going to brake, slam, clunk, or boom at WOT.

What kinda of shape is it in? Also standard or Eddie Bauer?

from a 99. i think its a xls, i would have to look, but i wont be able to do anything till i come back in around 3 weeks from my holidays.

No worries, I can wait. Just want to redo what I trusted a friend do..
"remember friends don't let friends use barrel electrical connections"

Also, I forgot to ask. Don, your coil pack wow.. is it secure there? are you afraid of heat soak misfiring?

What type of belt (vendor) are using for serp. belt?

phix, I have no idea on the coil pack. Seems like a good place for it, if heat isn't an issue.

And no, there is no bracket holding it there. Once the truck can drive, I'll probably zip tie it in place to make sure it doesn't bounce in to the belt. Then, if all is well, I'll come up with a bracket for it.

I need to change me valve cover also, I have had the neck lowered on it. I just primed it, and am waiting for it to dry so I can top coat. Hopefully tomorrow night I can install it.

Then I can finish up my intake section.

Good stuff, by the way I remembered how the design came about for my bracket. Took the existing holder and welded 2 pieces. Used a piece of cardboard to test fit the distance between it and the EGR bolt. As for heat.. I can pretty much guarantee you'll see some.. not sure if it will cause any misfires in that location. Though, I have had my hand in that location recently after normal driving and well.. its pretty hot in that area.

Maybe next trip to the wreckers I'll pick up a bracket. Mine is plastic, and a molded part of the upper intake.

Also before the question gets missed again, what type of belt is that? and also where did you get the plug wire heat wrap?

That heat wrap came from ebay. I'll have to find the vendor. Its actually around my egr.

The belt is a goodyear gatorback part number 6PK2680. Its 105.5 inches long.

There doesn't seem to be a bunch of blower whine. I wonder why that is? Clearance on the M90 rotors too sloppy? Maybe someone with experience in this stuff can tell me.

Believe it or not, I don't really ever hear my blower whine unless I am in over 26-2700 or its a burrrrp-burrrp with the hood up. Actually I took it to jiffy lube since I did not feel like playing the guessing game on trans fluid level nor taking a mobile1 synthetic bath. I think I caused more trouble then good, as everyone began to flock over to the lowered xploader when there was a lambo 2 bays over.

ok, well then. I better not look for issues.

I check peak boost on the gauge, and I come in at 1 lb boost just from a few rev's. With the needle above 0, that tells me the M90 is pushing air.

I can tell by your video the m90 is definitely pushing some air. What are your thoughts on glowshift gauges so far?

No idea. Installed easily, don't really know about the accuracy. The a/f gauge is an innovate unit. Fuel pressure is glowshift also, but I havnt finished the wiring yet.

I'll probably remove the gauges once the motors working properly, and leave the wiring for a quick install as required.

sounds sick to me but i do agree i would think there would be more whine.also it seems to rev VERY fast,no lag.either there is not much restriction or the blade clearances arnt the best.do you have a air bypass on it?is it working?from other vid it seems you wont hear to much till your on it and driving.it also seems the gm model whines more or is louder than the tbird

Yes, there is bypass. I installed my new valve cover with the lowered filler tube. It's perfect!
I'm on my way. Tuning, brackets, lots of fiddling left to do.
I had to move the explorer to make room in the garage, and the throttle was so touchy (stiff, and getting used to the new throttle cable), that it was tough to accelerqte smoothly. I think I'll be working with that spring on the new cable. Its way to stiff.

Either way, even off idle, there's a ton more power.

Here's the issues I ran in to. Pretty minor really.
I didn't get a pic of the shifted coolant neck, as it was pretty tough to see anything in the picture.

The new valve cover is installed, and the height is perfectly.

James must be up to his eyeballs. I haven't heard anything from him. Not the best timing for me. Shoot. Its the waiting game now.
