****.
I looked at yours, and figured mine had a slight bit more wrap than yours. If your getting all kinds of slipping, then Im not going to be much better off than you.

I might have to stick with original configuration, and the gatorback.

I'll maybe try one size smaller of belt in my original configuration, as it might fit with the smaller pulley. If my tensioner is tight there is more wrap on the alternator.

At least the shorter belt will work fine for the highway, as the next couple of weekends are going to be spent on it.

That belt wrap kit might work for me also. I think the rotors from yours work on mine with the positioning pins moved around There is really no way to know for sure, other than buying one and trying it.

I personally would leave it the way you have it and look into a belt wrap kit.the way you have it is the way its ran from factory besides the sc.belt wrap would properly fix the problem without affecting any other pulley.really odd that green belt stretched,I've read they are pretty stiff and never seen anything bad about them.soon your have a belt collection like me and now i need two new ones!!lol;)

hahaha..ya, if I break a belt, I have an assortment to choose from to limp home, thats for sure.

I think the belt wrap kit you are looking at will work as far as bolt spacing. Im a bit concerned about the snout length though. Worst case, I could shorten the length of the idler pulley arm on the kit.

I'll take the plunge and order one.

O yea you are totally right.the snout is different.i just got home so ill do some searching in a bit.they have to make one.i didnt find those by searching but in some threads.

I'm off to be the wildlife for a few days camping. I checked with Ron and he has one for the sohc. He sent me a pic of it, but I need to see how it mounts.

I'll pick this up next week.

The one for the sohc won't work.that was the first one i looked at,the heads and assesory brackets are totally different on ours.what i did find is both of our chargers use the same snout bolt pattern .the ford is two inches shorter.you can use the same belt wrap im going to .you would just need to cut it down a 1.5" and redrill/tap it from the looks of it.pic of the two snouts

Cut, drill, and tap what?

Cut, drill, and tap what?

The belt wrap kit im going to be using.its made for the gm snout so its 2" longer.they both use the same bolt pattern for the snout where it mounts,so it appears he can just cut it down for the shorter ford snout and it would work.we cant seem to find one made for the ford charger, maybe belt slip wasn't as big as an issue for them as it is for the gm charger.here is a pic of it but on a car,i haven't gotten mine in yet.

Here is what Ron made at BansheeSupercharger for the SOHC's.

I'll have to have a close look at mine and see if he is mounting to the block, or the heads.
I understand the block is very similar, so with the picture I should be able to eye it up.

If I can find some aluminum, I might be able to make something like he has done if the mounting points dont look like they will fit the ohv.

There really isn't that much that is similar at all.the whole front is completely different.we don't have that bracket its mounted to and also our water neck and tensor is right there.from what i can tell there is no room at all for it.

I havn't had a chance to look yet, but I'm sure your right.

Shoot i hope im wrong and you see something i don't,would be a nice easy fix for both of us and both type of motors;)

Do you want pictures of the one off my instacharger?

Phix, we would love a picture. All idea's are good idea's.
I'm still enjoying the benefits of low down torque, and can't feel the belt slip, but at higher rpm's Im sure there is power being left on the table.

hahaha....you beat me.
Yes, Im pretty sure Phix has the ohv.

Hahah;)yea pretty sure he does to.if you look at both our chargers and drew a center line down the motor you can see yours sits more towards the passenger side where mine sits more towards the drivers.so it looks like you have a little more belt wrap than me.i can hear it when i gas it hard and feel it at WOT.the true way to tell is to log it and you can see it with the maf tables and something else,or that's how my tuner saw it when i was on dyno.then my belt stretched and its just real bad now:(

hahaha....its funny that we are stretching belts so badly.
So far, I am still finding the gatorbacks seem to stretch the least.

Yea that's really making me think twice about the green or blue belts but again if you have belt slip its over heating the belts also.im still running the cheap ass dayco belt:(once i get this belt slip fixed I've got a little something up my sleeve that I've been working on and next set of dyno number should be WAY better:shifty_ey:shifty_ey:smoke:
