No rush on the pulleys, as I know I'll need more wrap with them for sure.
I'm looking forward to you taking me for a pull in Evil.

There's no way you can tell me that it wasn't worth the aggravation to get that SC on there. Only question is...Where are you going to mount your water/meth pump when you stick a smaller pulley on there?

8 lbs boost is where I'm at right now. I can hardly wait to log and see how much more air is going thru my omtor than before (maf add counts).

Tim, we will spend some time looking at your logs in excel. I don't know a ton, but I can help give you an idea what James is looking at.

I ran across a thread that James said he was maxing out his lightning maf at 800 add counts (His turbo sohc). My motor was at 750 before the rebuild. It would be a personal victory for my to get my ohv pushing that level of air thru it.

your making 8lbs with that turn table for a pulley! WOW! as for worth the aggravation, you couldnt slap, beat, kick, punch, burn, run over, or rip the smile off 'dis face :D!

Its my smaller pulley on there now, but compared to yours, it might as well be a ferris wheel. It took me from about 5 lbs to 8 lbs boost.
I was concerned about upping the boost with no tuning, but I'm sure the meth will put me in the safe zone. I'll figure out where I want to be with the pulley size, and then get James to do my final tune.

I think I remember James saying Im good for around 12lbs boost without an intercooler. I guess it starts to depend on how well my motor holds up under more boost.

Who said, "push it till it breaks, make the broken part stronger, and repeat"?

I wanna see 12lbs without a ic...even with w/m he would be tuning so much power outa it to be safe, I would think.need to go back look at the graph rocket posted and see when the m90 on our motors reaches its peak effect point.I would expect tim is there with smaller pulleys and on a 5.0.like to see his iat

I don't understand the graph Rocket posted. What can I say?

Even without my A/f ratio being logged, I could still log my iat's for reference. Its pretty cool outside though. I would think that our winters would really help keep iat's down.

Once I get some logging done, I'll try to compare iats matching before and after rebuilds with the same pulley size. The after rebuild iats will be with the w/m also. Im pretty interested to see what the difference is.

This summer will be dyno time also. Im sure I'll be a bit dissapointed in the numbers, as we all seem to be.

if you know how to post them, tell me, and i will.

Im sure they are way lower.w/m should be just like having a ic.from the way I read the graph 12-14 lbs is peak performance for the m90 on our motors.ic or w/m doesnt effect those number, thats just the max cfm it can put out efficient. W/m or IC just makes the motor be able to make more power outa those cfms.thats with 0 restrictions. Anything over 12lbs I would worry about ring gap and piston failure. I plan to push it to 12 lbs also so I really hope you beat me to it, but I plan to use nos with w/m as the gas jet sense I have IC already.

Don should.I dont know anything about datta logging.mines all done on the dyno.im willing to bet they are high though.8lbs on a 5.0 with a m90 & without ic should be up there in efficiency.bet its a blast to drive tho!!:salute:

Tim, you can open your log in excel. Then highlight your intake ambient temp column. Then sort highest to lowest. That will give you the max iat in the log at the top, along with the rest of the numbers when it happened.

Disappointed?!? I'm sure that thing pulls regardless what the dyno will tell you. It doesn't get much better than a screaming blower at WOT. Can't wait to see some vids of you going wide open. Just be careful with IATs. Are intercoolers for these out of the question? That would really help reliability and power.

For me, I'd need a body lift, or a hole in my hood to even think about an intercooler. There just isn't enough height under the hood.
It would have to be a liquid cooling rad sandwiched between the intake manifold and m90, just like JD did.
I'm hoping the water/meth will keep iats reasonable. Adding fluid all the time takes away from being maintenance free, but it's the easiest of the two options for me. My ex looks completely stock.

Sweet, sounds like you got it well thought out. Yea you got a true home-built sleeper.

It does sound like somethings going on under the hood. Maybe once the tunes pilished up, and idle increased a bit it might be more difficult to tell at idle. Driving, its a dead give away. Pretty tough to hide without creating too much back pressure.

Coil pack finally mounted

In Tims efforts to clean up my engine bay, be made me a coil bracket.
In my procrastination (That and the cold), it took me a while to complete.

New coil bracket, and new screamin deamon coil.

Thanks again Tim!

well, um, hey, thanks for letting me use your wideband, laptop, rewiring the wideband, doing the first data log, and......... sorry i didnt show up today, but one look outside, and i am sure you understood. looks good. i think the next thing we should do is try and ditch all the hard plastic vacuum lines for rubber ones. also, did you have any issues with any plug wires being to short?

Yup, my hands are pretty ripped up. Today did not go well. I should have stayed in bed.

Did you know cold spray paint bubbles, and lifts existing paint? Really odd. Anyway, I cleaned up the bracket, and took everything inside to warm up. Then a repaint.

In modifying the bracket, a vice probably would have stopped the L bracket from spinning with the drill bit, and cutting my hand up. I saw that coming a million miles away, but in the absence of any way to hold it firmly in place, I went for it.

A couple of wires were too short, but I had a couple of longer ones laying around. Good thing. Again , scrapping my hands more and re-opening my existing cuts. More blood all over the engine bay.

I'm glad this ones done. The blood clean up took some time.
