- 98 Explorer XLT 5.0
I used vroomzoomboom's write up here: Here. I did this on a 98 Explorer XLT. The first one i did, I put the positive on the right side of the switch(Right side looking at my pics). But they didn't work. I noticed some people discussing it on the other page that people were getting different results. The Positive for my 98 was the left side of the switch looking at from my pictures view. I followed what vroomzoomboom did and just cut the metal pieces that were already there and soldered on to those. MAKE SURE YOU PUSH THE METAL PARTS IN GOOD BECAUSE IF THERE NOT AND THEY MAKE CONTACT WITH THE BRONZE METAL INSIDE THE SWITCH IT WILL SHORT THEM OUT AND THEY WON'T WORK.
I ordered from superbrightleds.com and just drilled a hole where the old green leds went into and used a bit(can't remember what size) and they fit really snug when I pushed them in.
