93 Sport "Deep Purple"

Update:

I scored the deal of the year.

A manual shift 1354 transfer case for $125.00!!

I have to find a shifter, but I know where three are.

Case shifts into all the positions and spins correctly in the selected ranges.

This will be installed after acquiring the correct shifter.

Door pins are next on the list as well.

I got the manual transfer case installed Sunday and hooked up the linkage yesterday.

Using the old electric case harness for the dash lights, does anyone know which wires are the 4x4 and low range lights on the dash? I still need to get the plug for the connection in order to finish it correctly.

I ran a Vin check on my truck last night and found my mileage reading. My truck has 225k currently. Meaning I bought it with 218k miles. Everything makes sense now. I made contact with the seller whom I bought it from, and she informed me that there's been a clutch replaced in addition to the head work under her care.

With the vin report information in hand I noticed that my truck was sold where I originally grew up (Tulsa, Oklahoma) so I called Ford today to see who was the original selling dealer. Ford told me the original selling dealers name was Joe Cooper Ford and it was initially sold 7/24/1993.

Had to modify the shifter bezel to fit around the transfer case shifter.

The finished product.

Ooh that looks awesome, I need to find one of my own. The electronic shift case is just way too sluggish for me.

Thanks I am pretty excited about it.

I went ahead and swapped out the electric case before I actually NEEDED to use it. I didn't want to be in a bind and push the button and get nothing. I have no idea if it worked correctly or not.

I changed out my speedometer / odometer assembly yesterday for my old 6 digit unit I had in my old truck. While at it I changed the dash trim that goes around the cluster and radio.

The old surround had all the pins broke off.

The speedometer/ odometer was replaced after finding the actual mileage on my truck.

I had dual exhaust run yesterday. A flowmaster muffler was used and had a splitter installed after that, then 2 inch pipes over the axle ending it all with 15 inch chrome tips.

Installed aftermarket water temperature, and oil pressure gauges today. I also did the drivers door pins, both were in need of replacement as I was having to lift up on the door to shut it, which is no easy task with a two door.

Got nice looking truck. To bad though for the tire blow out. :-(

I gotta say... since the tread came off, I'd yank the other tires and get new ones ASAP, no more driving on those. They're worn enough and likely old enough that the others will fail soon.

Reminds me of this video:

Looks good, i plan on putting a oil pressure gauge in mine here soon.

Yeah, I like it pretty good. The tire problem aggravated me, but that's life.

The gauges work well. I really like the temperature gauge as I can keep an eye on things easier than the stock gauge. The oil pressure gauge is just another way to monitor the life of my motor. My engine is fairly tired and it has been down to 10 psi at an extended idle.

Yeah, I have to wait for payday to buy tires. I'm going to upgrade and buy 31's. Where I live I kinda need a better tire to travel the country roads.

I hear you there. I wasn't happy forking over the $$ for my tires but it's a big safety item. Though, I couldn't be happier with the Cooper Discoverer AT/3's. Half of my traveling is country gravel roads. The Discoverers are aggressive enough to get you out of a situation and keep you planted but don't wear excessively quick or hurt high speed highway driving. They're excellent in the snow too. I don't know why they don't get more love on this forum.

Funny you mention tires....got a set of Goodyear Wranglers....they're not 31s but they're still a good tire :)
