Someone has one up for sale local to me. He is asking $2600 which I think is very high for a bone stock Sport with 236k on the odometer.

HAHA you funny guy. ;-) I have a '94 XLT with a few more miles than that today (i've had since new, now with 2nd engine, everything always fixed even transmission rebuilt a couple times) over the years, with some upgrades and in good driving condition.. Driving it regularly still and today. Tried to sell it a couple years ago with a few less miles than your guy and the ONLY offer I got was $1000.. and that was with new tires on upgraded wheels. ;-) Good vehicle still and no way i can replace it with anything anywhere near what I could get for it so i just keep it around and keep using it. Very handy. They just aren't fashionable these days (in these parts anyway). Lot of miles though and plenty of things will be ready to go out (like window switches, ignition switch, etc. 'Stock' offers nothing special. I keep fixing and driving..

Well, I paid $2K for mine two years ago with about 180K on it, all stock, so it doesn't sound completely ridiculous to me. It'd really depend on the state of the drivetrain and how much rust. On mine the front U-joints were locked up with rust and the rockers were rusted out, but engine, tranny (it's a 5-speed) and transfer case were all fine, frame and floor was all solid, and interior was good. Paid to have the U-joints replaced, replaced the rockers myself, and did the usual maintenance/tuneup stuff. I'm very happy with it.

(and just an aside, but very cool to see a '60 Seneca on your list, I had a '60 Pioneer years ago)

I see more on the road than I do on Craigslist or any other local listings. When they do come up they are expensive.

@bwryan Which engine was in your Pioneer?

Must be pretty rust free in AZ.
I wanted to say 1000, but everything has gone up so 2000?
Hopefully it’s a 5speed, an auto (a4ld) would not be a good buy at that mileage.
Any photos?

It had the poly 318 with the pushbutton Powerflite 2-speed. Love the old Mopars, had several Sweptline pickups as well as a few Chargers and other B-bodies, most of them 318-powered.

Some people ask stupid high prices for used cars. $2,600 would probably be towards the upper end of reasonable.

I think the days of under 1 k driver are gone.

2 k maybe. Then, compare the explorer to what is available for 2,000, which I bet he wouldn't let walk away.

Square body cars are "in" with the gals these days.

$800-1500 for that truck and that’s only in this inflated market

Sports don’t sell well at all,
Nobody likes 3 door suvs, it took forever for full size broncos and bronco 2s to become popular..only after the new bronco was released, and all the early broncos were gone,’then the fsb and b2 went up in price… not sure if the sport ever will

Chick magnets are priceless to the people who need a suv, sex utility vehicle.

Mine is also a 318 Poly, just with a few mods. :D It's now stroked to 390CI, dual quads, nice cam and it makes 425HP.
