"LA fire choking Denver"
http://www.knx1070.com/Smoke-From-LA-Fires-Choking-Denver/5134859

DENVER (AP) -- Wildfires burning in California, Utah and western Colorado have made Colorado's air hazy, clouded mountain views — and prompted advisories from state health officials.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Safety Tuesday advised young people, the elderly and those with heart disease and respiratory illnesses to stay inside if visibility was less than five miles in their neighborhoods. The areas affected the most are northwest and north-central Colorado.

Health officials say the highest concentrations of fine particulates that can cause health problems are generally north of Interstate 70 and as far east as the Front Range. They say the smoke should gradually diminish Tuesday evening.

Well I just got home from the Station fire, and it's looking better but not great. Currently the plan is to try and hold it south of Hwy 138, and west of I 15. It came at us hard the day before yesterday, and managed to jump Hwy. 2 again, but calmed down until today when it made a another push to the north above whats known as three points.

These 16-18 hr. x 12 days took a toll, so I'm off to bed for my one day off. I will say that coming home with 4 out of the 5 fires we were assigned to being out is a pretty good record/feeling for now...

Everyone stay safe as the Santa Anna season is just around the corner.

...It's times like these that I don't envy your job at all...You be careful and stay safe too...:salute:

...I've been in Newport beach for the last 2 weeks and it's been about 80*....I went to Hemet yesterday and when I left today, it was a coll 101*...On the way home all I could see was brown smoke and sure enough, there was a fire off the 91 between the 15 and La Sierra...

...The closer I got to home the browner it got..I believe it was about 100* at home...I have a feeling this will go on way past the first TH run this year...:(
