00 Stang GT rims with 275/60/17 ?

Yes I searched but didnt really find the details I was looking for.

Im looking to get the stock 5 spoke GT rims (17x8) that I found for a good price, and I know they will bolt on, but they dont appear to have any lip at all, so Im guessing Im going to need a spacer to get them to look right? Also I looked and a 275/60/17 is the exact same height as a 255/70/16, will I be ok with that size or am I going to have BAD rubbing issues?

BTW I have a 01 Sport 4x4 at stock height right now, might lower the 1.5" somewhere down the road.

Ive seen pics of Cobra R's, and Bullitt's, but never just the plain stock rims. Anyone know of any?

Go for it! You may have some rubbing of the sway bar on the front at full lock turns without spacers. You can get spacers from Explorer Express for a reasonable price if you do rub. I haven't had any issues with the 275/55R-17's on Cobra R's on my truck when using 3/8" spacers on the fronts. You may want to look at the way the 275's ride on 8" rims, they are perfect on 9" rims.

thanks, do you have any pics of yours? Im hoping to get these stock 17x8's for under 200, so I figure its worth it. Is anyone running the stock GT rims?

I might be all wrong here--
I have 17x9 wheels--with 275-60-17 tires--
Isn't a 8" wheel a bit narrow for this tire?? JMO
